If they sign Brian "Turtle" Boyle, I will become unbearable to sit near whenever he's on the ice.

The Flyers can totally use the shore as a selling point for Boyle.

With the resigning of Kimmo I would love to see Alt get a achance. Pair him with kimmo and let them have sheltered minutes at ES. Kimmo will get more minutes on PP. Maybe then you can move Grossman to open a slot
- J35Bacher

I don't think the organization feels Alt is quite ready for the NHL yet (but not too far), and they aren't going to move out a veteran starter just to create a spot that is "Alt's to lose."

Philly doesn't draft a lot of Russians, especially in the first round but Barbashev has some sweet hands. He isn't going to drop to 48 but if Philly somehow got a higher second rounder and he fell I'd love to see them roll the dice.

Yes. He's a bit of a wildcard for sure. But I hate guys like Boyle who only pick fights they're sure to win and turtle when a legit tough guy tries them (see: Carkner, Matt).

I am not saying for Alt to lose but moving Grossman can free some money. We need to start playing some guys on ELC to get room. Also it is not like Alt is small and he is probably a little better skater the Grossmann. I would actually be ok with Schenn playing with Coburn as I think schenn does better when he is the stay at home guy and that would alow coburn to be a little more agressive. Also he seems to be better with more minutes.

People complain about having an enforcer. i could care less who he tries to fight as long as we can ice a 4th line that could play 10 minutes a game not not be a liability

What enforcer did the flyers have? Rinaldo? Yes Rosehill played springly. But almost every team has one of these guys. The Flyers have moved away from playing a tough guy on a nightly bases. If they improve the 4th line they can waive Rosehill and make Rinaldo the 13th forward.
- J35Bacher

Rosehill played 34 games last season. So more than you would at first think.
Rinaldo came in at 67 and that doesn't count play-off appearances.

I think Schenn and Coburn would be a disaster. Coburn sees our hardest minutes and I don't think Schenn is ready for that yet.

No, they don't draft a lot of Russians. I'd love to see this change, but I'm not sure how the Flyers change it, because the KHL is a viable financial threat in many ways.

I think they tried that pairing in the past and it was a smishsmortion.

I think we've reached the point with Luke Schenn where what you see is what you're going to get. He is still the same player with the same limitations (iffy positional awareness, skating, puckhandling) that he was at 18, and still partially makes up for it with his physicality, compete level and what I think is underrated passing.

A few thoughts about next week regarding the NHL awards and the draft.

First, with the awards only eight days I'm most excited about that. I truly believe without Giroux, theFlyers do not get as far as they did this season. So with this belief, I feel Giroux has the inside track on the Hart Trophy. It really would be nice to see our Captain win such deserving hardware. Crosby is normally the guy fans think of first but even Ov has surprisingly won over Crosby himself.

As for the draft, I do believe we should go after a wing but I do ask this. What if we did draft the best player available which just happens to be a center? Does this leave room to trade one of Schenn or Laughton in a much bigger package to help the team now? Do I want this? Absolutely not but I do feel Laughton brings the same issues Lecavalier brings. If Laughton is too good for a top nine role, a center must move to wing.

I think i might actually go to church before the draft and pray Virtanen drops to 17. He is my pick for flyers. Think he brings everything they need for on the wing. For once can the hockey gods help.

Whether or not he "should" win the Hart, he won't.

They won't rule out Barbashev strictly because he is Russian. Both he and Scherbak play styles that are NHL adaptable and also seem to like living and playing in North America. Goldobin and Kamenov would be a bit more in the roll-the-dice category, but Goldobin in particular is a very skilled player.

You'd better pray that he drops AND that the Flyers pick him. With your luck he'd drop and we'd choose someone else!

I hate PK Subban but would love the Flyers to get him. I could care less as long as they can help the team. I am a Flyers fan not a "insert name" fan.
