We don't have to take into account the stench of failure on Kesler. It decreases his value.
- Elbows15

If you don't want him don't take him at all. Simple . Good luck against the Kings again hopefully Spezza can shut down Carter next time.

Nice to see JJ come around on Brandon "Jack Skille" Saad. The kid is legit.

I don't think Spezza is coming here either. That's okay. I'm sure the organization will figure it out.

Don't know about the commitment stiff, but he did have consistency issues. He was a lot more consistent this year, I thought. I'm sure with the talent here he will get a lot more than just 35 points
- tomcat24

You can't really assume that though. That is the kind of thought process that gets GMs fired.

They're idiots then. Sharp would be their best winger. Horton is the only one close and let me know the next time he plays close to a full season. Ansimov is a 3rd line center with limited skating ability. Isn't great on FO and is a 35 points a year guy.
- Elbows15

He is pretty good defensivel. I'm shocked by the 35 points. I think on this team he gets a lot more. He isn't the most physical but I don't think he's soft, either

This is a Huge and important trade for stan. We don't have a lot of great pieces like sharp to trade. I think you are right and he might want someone safer back.

I'm getting lost: we need to start identifying who we're talking about here.

It won't be Couturier or Schenn for Sharp either ,they already have enough old players that they are trying to dump off too. You can always try for Joe the playoff hologram Thorton ,or the 4 th line buyout Mike Richards they may help .

Shaw has just as many hits in one season as he does in his whole career. He is soft. And not that +/- is the be all end all but he is a career minus player. His advanced stats kinda suck too.

Artem anisimov on Columbus. Some smart guy suggested sharp for anisimov and either their 1st or kerby reichel. I thought at 1st we might have to add to get both players but elbows thinks anisimov sucks

Both of those guys would be better options than Kesler. Shouldn't you be more worried about getting a bust for Schneider?

Both better than Handzus .

Thats all the Hawks really need to be looking at is a center better than Handzus ,

Id love Kesler . 100% hell yes . But it has to be for AT MIST Leddy , TT, and a pick. If that isnt enough than (frank) it .

If the Hawks had a better center than Handzus they beat the Kings . He wa sthe weakest link in the weakest position for the Hawks versus LA .

Im sure STan will suprise us in a mediocre way come the Draft .

I think Leddy TT and a first is a fair deal both sides. I also know Saad is a good young player. I was just stating that some fans here have put him into a Demi God status.

I would be worried next year that where Kesler is playing Kane may want to follow.

Fair deal or not, this still doesn't work for the Hawks cap-wise.

Well at this time Hawks can afford an AHL EL salary . That is not Canucks problem. Whether you try to get Kesler Richards Thorton Spezza or any other NHL center you have to move someone first.

Damn I should just add that to my name-tomcat24:wanted to trade Kane I did. For schenn and simmonds. It was a mistake. I admit it. I still think it was a pretty decent package. You can tell I like schenn. Still want to get him. But Philly needs d more. I still would do a sharp for anisimov AND Reichel trade

For some reason Q hasn't been playing Sharp at centre for the past few years. But if it's so important to this club to have a 2C I don't know why they just don't love Sharp over from the wing. He may not be the perfect 2C but we don't have to give up anything in that move. Shaw could move to the 3rd line and Stan could still sign a depth centre. I know this won't happen, but it would be the easiest move.

Well maybe I'd worry if Kesler was playing in Buffalo.

I don't think any of those guys are coming to Chicago.

Honestly, Bowman will more than likely sign another bottom 6 center, and Q will rotate out Shaw and Smith to center the 2nd line to start the season until Teravainen is ready to go.
