Wouldn't have a issue with Phaneuf coming to Philly. For cap reasons Grossmann has to go back in the deal or it's a nonstarter.

The issue is that most importantly of all the Flyers want to rid themselves of Vinny this offseason. So say they do that AND trade B Schenn for a D man. We're now down a second line LW and C. We're already very weak on LW so I don't see how B Schenn is made available unless the guy coming back in a deal is Weber, Subban, OEL or the like, and we all know how unlikely that is.

So for me my offer would be Vinny, Laughton, Grossmann & a 2nd rounder for Phaneuf & a 3rd or 4th rounder. You'll be able to find a better offer from another team tbh.

I'm not saying whether the deal is fair or not, if just makes no sense. Moving out Kadri to get Schenn is a lateral move, so no point for either team. I doubt PHI has any interest in Reimer given that they signed Mason and have decent and cheaper backups available - and who won't have potentially a goalie controversy.

Reimer will get dealt to a team like WPG, CGY or WASH for a mid-round pick.

I don't see Kadri being dealt.

Phaneuf will go for somebody who can play 1-2 C/W (like Schenn+ or Read+), not a strict C (unless Kadri will be moving to W permanently, which I doubt).

Whoever gives Heatly a NHL contract should be shot. Really, what's the likelyhood of a bounce back year when he's been going downhill for five?

And Brian Boyle and Bellemere are 4th line guys. They arent going to replace B Schenn.

Why? He's a top pairing defenseman. Eats a ton of minutes. Plays the PP and PK. Has a great slap shot. And plays against the toughest lines while playing for TOR

I will say if the Flyers moved down from 17 to say 24 and acquired a decent LW in that deal I would be open to moving B Schenn along with the 24th or 20-whatever overall for Phaneuf.
