You got it. he is a five million Dman
You are comaring Dion to Subban Weber Drew D ,Chara Suter?
Not even close.
next level down would be Keith Seabrook go one lower
Go down to the Hamuis level and that is where Phanuef sits. Hamhuis gets paid 4.6 - vancouverdawg
I don't think Phaneuf is on even remotely on Hamhuis's level. Hamhuis is a way more solid D-man and had good plus minus on a pretty garbage team last year. And to show how bad vancouver's D was last year Edler won the coveted Green Jacket. |

Dion's offence has more upside but there is no way he matches his defensive abilities. In fact, Hamhuis could be Dion's ideal partner. |

Every team that doesn't make the playoffs says the exact same thing. |

Yes actually. And do you want to know why? Loungo is 35 way past his prime. Your paying him way too much when he is 40. - JVR_42_PK81[/quote
Luongo's cap hit is at like 4.5M and Florida needs help getting to the cap floor. Luongo probably helps sell tickets due to what he did in Florida in the past and now they have a veteran starting goalie who definitely has decent to potentially awesome hockey left in him and Vancouver has most of the 35+ risks involved in his contract. Florida seems happy
Phaneuf is overpaid, hated by many and needs to be traded ASAP before you can't move him.
I think Florida wins that argument IMO

2 players nominated for the Calder in the same year.................
Last players and team to do that were Chicago with Kane and Toews. |

Phaneuf and 8th overall for Gagner, Marincin and 3rd overall.
But don't worry Oiler fans, Phaneuf to Edmonton got the kiss of death today. Sleep easy. |

I don't think Tampa will do it. A dynasty is damn tough, as Chicago isn't even a dynasty (yet they claim to be). LA has to win next year for it to be one.
Cap makes it close to impossible to do so.
