As for serviceable years, it's not uncommon for goalies to play into their late 30's or early 40's.........phaneuf plays a tough brand of hockey, he could easily break down early......especially if he continues playing as much as he does.

Like it or not, Phaneuf's contract is damn close to being as bad as luongo's is.

Ehrhoff, Campbell, Boychuk, and Kulikov could all make solid impacts on the team for a lesser price (both in trade and on contract over the long term). Maybe not the same level of impact but an effective one nonetheless.

I don't think your getting the restructure possibilities in Luongo's contract. But, your pal only started getting upset when I simply stated that we do not want Phaneuf. We don't. Try fleecing someone else. You gave him the deal and now you're the "DiPietro Joke" for the next handful of seasons.
