The tought thing here is, are we willing to trade that all for a guy who might not sign with us? I don't want the sabres to look like " the other islanders" and i think Erhoff alone can fetch a good return if he's will ing to go somewhere else.

Means nothing at this point, still working on a long term deal. Filing is a last resort back up plan, it would have been foolish not to file for arbitration since it limits the window to sign an offer sheet and doesn't allow him to be a hold out. Gives the Avs Management some leverage now

Phillys gm had made some seriously odd decisions the last few years. Goes to the Stanley cup then trades away 2 big time fowards for role playing guys. Then trades another potential star foward JVR to Toronto for a defenseman that couldn't even crack toronto's defense. LA just sat back and let Columbus and Philly give them a power house. It makes me wonder what philly could have been if they hadn't traded away 3 big time fowards.

Im a big ROR fan and no way would you want him as your number 1. And to be honest I think he was more effective and offensively dangerous when on the Wing. Giving him b/w 5-6m a season to be on your Top line as a 30goal scorer, I am ok with that

When Duchene was injured, having ROR with wingers like PAP and McGinn, he looked lost and was very ineffective. When he played with a winger like Landy, or on the Wing with Duchene, he benefit from their skill giving him time and space.

ROR has been consistent the past 3 seasons (lock out being on pace for) 25-30 goals/55-60 pts/Top 5 in the league for Takeaways/Giveaway Ratio. Every year he is slowly increasing his career highs in those categories.

The stats are respectable, but you watch him game in and game out, you see all the little slick plays me makes with the puck to either keep the offence alive, clear it out of the zone, back check breaking up a play. Hes as solid as he comes when you look at a 2 way forward. Hes young at 23 so you can easily say you have 10-12 years of him producing near that level with highs and lows.

He really is following the Bergeron career path, want him to be a life long Avalanche. Looking back, what would you have traded to get Bergeron when he was 22? Unless its so dumb when it comes to his contract demands, Avs can't trade him, just pay the man. It would be a 2 steps back scenario if he was out of the line up.

Trades like Myers+ would be a nice offer, but I still would be mad about it, hes too valuable to the Avs core in my opinion.

You are mistaken . It would be one for one Murray has already said it would have to be an exceptional offer to get Myers . No one is immovable but Girgensons and Myers are as close we have to that. You are reading between the lines , things that were not said.

Where exactly did you see him say it'd have to be 1 for 1? Girgensons, Ristolainen, Zadorov and Pysyk are the closest to immovable. Myers is not in that group anymore.

Calder trophy put 'unrealistic' expectations on Myers, meaning he's not a top 2 dman nor a franchise dman.
