Not Myers !!! Foligno and #31
- Maximum Signal

If that's enough for #3, I'd do that in a heartbeat!
I think it costs a lot more though
I think that would only get us something around #20

No way ,Murray does that . You are talking about your #2 defenseman at worst for a question mark . Myers is already well into his development. We have no one to replace him at the same point in their development . Not how Murray think . Someone already developed young in age maybe . Not a #3 pick in a below normal draft. Really do not think we have the assets to move to number 3 unless Edmonton likes Adam . Make it Adam , Foligno and #31

Moving foligno doesnt bother me. I dont worry that murray wont replace him. He certainly has size and a name, but he has been fairly inconsistent here. He has had stretches (im thinking a few years ago when he played with ennis and stafford) where he looks like he might be a top 6 with the right line mates. Rumor is erhoff doesnt wanna go west. I dont think foligno and 31 gets it done. What about pysyk, foligno, and 40?

Would like to see foligno, girgensons, and larssons together for 10 games or so. Girgensons and larssons have that motor that foligno shows every few games. All three guys need to score more, but theres a chance that could be a very good checking line going forward. Deslauriers could be in the mix there too.

Wow, an intelligent post from Another teams fan. Nice job, pleasant reading good input instead of trolls causing a stir.
I wouldn't mind ROR here, I just have the feeling no big moves this year...except for bottom six forwards and/or 5/6 defensemen. That said I could see the Hoff dealt, but it has to be for a significantiece coming back. That recapture penaltY is high risk in the out years, supposedly when the Sabres are contending and must manage the cap hits...Vs now when they have tons of room.
Good post though Fire.

Thanks. Adopted Buffalo teams as my 2nd favorites, and Sabres and Bills climbing out of mediocrity is interesting to follow from afar. A lot of thought-provoking posts here--unlike some of the whining I've seen on Penguins boards about Rutherford hire.

I didn't realize ROR brought such passion here when I considered him a possible target. But then seeing how much cap room Avs have even signing Stastny and him makes me think it unlikely they couldn't keep ROR around and still sign a defenseman of note. (Niskanen?) Mackinnon on an ELC next two years helps a lot. Parenteau and Tanguay deals expiring then is nice too.

Still, if Avs were considering trading ROR, his value is very high right now. It isn't necessarily the wrong move to do so, depending on what you get back. Makes chatter all the more fun when trades are hockey trades and not salary cap dumps.

Also makes me more pessimistic my Blues can land Stastny. I didn't realize Avs had THAT much cap room.

Nononononono
We misunderstood each other I think
It looked like u were saying just Foligno + #31 for #3
If def do that, but I think it would only get us something like pick20
There's no way I'm adding Myers to that deal... Even for #3

I doubt adding Adam to foligno & 31 gets us much closer than 20... Even though Adam was good in Rochester, I don't think he will have much trade value till he starts scoring again in the NHL
I hope he makes the roster this year
Then we will know to either cut ties, or he possibly becomes another chip for Murray to play with

I can see your point there
Just saying I think that's what it would cost to get #3
Possibly Pysyk + Stewart or Stafford? But that might be a reach with those forwards both UFA after this season

Foligno seems to work well as a wreckingball/garabage goal guy when he has a speedy center who is good on the puck (ennis) and a sniper opposite on the opposite wing (saw this with stafford but i think it needs to be a true sniper). Given our present roster situation i would love to see the same type of experiment except placing foligno and ennis on the wings with zemgus at center

Anyone going to the FNC for the draft party?

P.Kane to Buffalo...
Thought u were annoyed with things that have been talked to death
There's a better chance the AVs trade ROR than he leaves Chicago btw

- jdfitz77

See that was the joke.

That should narrow it down to about 50 or so people.

I'm going for the buyout party.

Also, I'm going for the draft party if I don't find a better one at a bar.

Any suggestions, anyone hear anything?

Speaking of buyouts, and I know it's an old topic..

But was anyone disappointed with the Gerbe buyout? I still don't think I understand why that happened.

Didn't care when it happened. Still don't. He's not a difference maker.

Must have been a good weekend. Everyone seems hungover, hence the lack of activity. I would have thought the anticipation of Ville Leino's buyout when generate more buzz.

Apparently there's a soccer game on tonight. Good, I needed some motivation to go outside and do yardwork after dinner.
