See, that's why I'd make a terrible GM.

Guys like Kesler, Backes, Brown, O'Reilly...my personal man-crushes, would get me into trouble by giving up too much for them!

I think a lot of GMs do what will keep them employed through next season, which is understandable, really.

Yet no matter how much Garth Snow (franks) up, he's still always employed through "next season"

I believe that's called the "GM shell game"

I'm not a big fan of the Kings, but they earned the right to be Champs. Much respect for a team that plays tough but not cheap. Also nice to see Regher get to lift the cup.

Exaxtly how I feel. They are big and physical, but at no point have a chip on their shoulder. On the other hand you have the Bruins, then the Sabres who want to be tough like the Bruins. The Kings are proof that its a waste of time.

Ok GM TM ... Let's Go get 'er done! Time to shine and make us proud!
- Figure out a way to get into top 4 ... grab both the Sam's
- Buyout friggin Lame-O .. Give him a little extra to ensure he doesn't come back to these parts ever again.
-sign Ennis to a reasonable contract
- and don't sign some old UFA to a long contract...max periods is 3 - 4 years only.
Let the fun begin, 2 weeks to go!

It was so incredibly laughable how the Bruins became the "model franchise", especially here in Buffalo, all because their resident power forward plowed over a goaltender.

The Kings are the perfect example of a team that simply takes hits to make plays. That's the kind of toughness that I want this Sabres team to be full of. To be fair, Boston can and will do that when they have to as well, but they also have an element of jackassery that is finally proving futile.

I really don't see a way they get 2 picks in the top 4 without giving up next year's first, which I have no interest in doing.
