Again there are a lot of unknowns. Last year they were relatively injury free. That could change. There's a whole lot of factors that a GM can't control. A lot of statements being made here that isn't reality. It may not be bad. We don't know. But there is the very real potential that the Flyers would have to carry the full 2M as a penalty. I think that could be bad.

Did you see the first Brazil and Croatia game? The penalty shot that made it 2-1 for Brazil was really questionable. Waived off a goal for Croat's too.

If he earns the performance-based bonuses, they count against this year if there is room under the cap. If they don't fit under the cap this season, they'll be counted against next season.

If you want to get into this with him, you better clear your schedule for the next week.

The cushion allows you to transfer whatever bonus amount exceeds the cap limit to the next year. Say the flyers have $500,000 in remaining cap space at the end of the season and Kimmo earns the full $2mil in bonuses. The $1.5mil that exceeds the cap ceiling this year can be rolled over to the count against the cap next year instead.

Things changed between the time they signed him and now. New coach. New system that doesn't fit him as well. New GM. Back injury. Nobody liked the years and money when they signed him, but You had to think he was going to make the team better.

It limits what the Flyers can do in the offseason next year. They will probably be on the hook for part of VLs deal along with Pronger's. It's a lot of money tied up in players who won't be playing for the Flyers.

Nah, MJL is good with me. I enjoy discussing our differences of opinions.

Love the Timonen deal. Essentially a UFA D Man on a 1 year $4 million max deal. one and done baby. A bridge to youth without blocking them down the road. I think Hexy will now try to deal Grossman for a cheaper option, but he's only got 2 years left.

That Dallas deal for VL is a no brainer, even if it's just the rights to negotiate with Fiddler 1st(who cares). a 4th and 3rd is a no brainer. I would prefer they eat the cap mostly in the first 2 years, but that's just me.

I don't like the Schenn Nashville deal.
