Soccer gets a bad wrap in the us, but it's a global sport that's obsessed over in many countries. People like to point at all the diving, but you can say the same in hockey and in hockey you are supposed to get hit.

Absolutely. As a neutral party for that game, I can easily say the ref had one set of rules for the Brazilians and another different set for the Croatians. It was embarrassing and a disgrace.

The call was beyond disgraceful. If the officiating was better, players would stop diving. Just like in the NHL today, players know they'll get a call or two if they dive.

I wonder if the Flyers are relatively quiet this offseason.

I would not mind if they could unload a contract or two to make some cap room, and maybe pick up a bottom six winger and exchange one of their "defensive" D men for a more rounded type player.

Consider signing Timmo after the season starts to a reasonable one year deal and see what happens.
