Is this your idea of a hockey trade or how the Hawks dump contract obligations?

If I was Bryan Murray I would kiss your ass on Parliament Hill for giving me all that for a guy who doesn't want to play for my team anymore.

Accomplishes the Hawks having a true top 6 that can dominate any game .

Also the Hawks would keep their top 4 D men intact .

Salary washes out . The Power play becomes better .

Hawks are stacked at wing and have D coming in the system. I like Leddy more than most on this board but adding him in a package with one of our wings to get a true blue top 6 , maybe even a true #1 center to make the Spezza-Kane-Saad line , as a second line !

You do have to give to get . A deal like this keeps TT in the Hawks system as well.

Just playing the guessing game as much as anyone else here.

Spurs healthy and Popavich is the best coach in all sports

Just had a stat on TV: in the almost four games now, Heat have 67 turnovers and only 55 assists.

2 years left on his deal ?

Disregard : You're right a one year remaining .....

This kinda changes my mind a bit .

But Sharp and Leddy for a true top 6 center is something I would be cool with

Player A 25g 18a -15 52% FO salary 5 mil/yr age 30

Player B 20g 19 a +12 44% salary 2 mil/yr age 22

Would you trade either of these players for Seabrook?

Which player would you rather have?

Spezza has 1 year left. It's Kesler that has 2 years to go.

Nope. UFA after this season. And his cap hit is already 7 million a year. You are giving up 3 assets for 1 year?

That's a lot to give up on a 1 year rental, especially with Spezza's injury history.

Second is Shaw - first I'll assume is Kesler - I'll take Kessler because I think Shaw is probably a third line wing at his best, and 30 isn't that old these days.

And I wouldn't trade Seaberg for either because I don't like the defensive line-up without him.

So what would you think if Murray does the deal and 30 seconds later flips Sharp
to a Western Conference team for a young player and a good draft pick and then does much the same with Leddy. And then Bowman is left with a player who wants a pretty new contract of about $7.0M per year who will walk in a year if he doesn't get it.

I say Bowman would look like an idiot who did the deal while he was on his 2nd bottle of Scotch that night.

Who cares what the other team does with your X property . It doesnt matter .

WHo cares if SPezza walks in a year ? That just frees up 7m in cap space for the following off season .

Maybe SPezza will enjoy his time here with Kane and Saad.

If the Hawks go to battle with Shaw as the #2 center it wont work for a very long time. He isnt going to get that much better at the dot and for every positive offensive play he makes he takes a stupid penalty too.

I sure hope he doesn't give up 3 assets to get 1 player. He should be fired if he does.
