Apparently World Cup refs are trained by the NHL.

Sure, Josh Bailey for Leddy!
- eichiefs9

Fine by me. Leddy blows donkey balls. Bailey is cheaper if nothing else.

If he was miserable from February on, I'd love to have October - January of not miserable. 78 points is a lot to be miserable for the last two/three months of the season.

I don't disagree with his Richard-ness.

If not injured (and it seems not), then why the prolonged period of poor play? Old? Bored? Personal troubles? Team chemistry? It is a mystery, but it has possibly put him on the block - standards are high....

The Blues, Ducks, Sharks, and Kings are not likely going to be standing pat. Stan will, and needs to Improve the team whenever possible.
- Lido_Shuffle

I agree there are needs. But, those teams haven't made runs like the Hawks have in the past 5 years. The Ducks and Sharks are great in the regular season but can't seem to break through, ever. I'd be willing to bet the Sharks will look completely different in October than they do now. Not necessarily for the better. The Kings are a very valid point because they're good, young and scary.

My point is that the make up of the team doesn't have to be drastically changed. The Hawks are built as such that they will improve with another year of experience.

I refuse to acknowledge the Blues' existence until I have to. Pretty sure we can all agree on that.

No arguments on that. Just stating he's still a valuable piece.

Only two months until the very future of the Hawks' franchise is decided. Oh, please, Kevin Hayes, tell us if you want us.....

That's a trade I'd make in a second. Bailey actually might have some value to a good team, he can play a defensive role pretty well if he's playing the wing. Plus there's always the longshot that playing with some better talent he can live up to the potential he was thought to have in his draft year. His time is just done on the Island. Fans have had enough of him, but he deserves a shot elsewhere.

I would never in a million years trade Frans for Leddy, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't give him a shot for the right price.

I hate the blows too.

I think all the trade talk regarding Sharp is unlikely. However, if the Hawks get a good enough offer for him and he wants to go, I'm sure Stan will make deal. Working with so little cap space makes filling their holes tough.

Pretty much. Who do these Islanders think they are anyway? It's all about us.

Come to think of it, they should be retaining some of Nielsen's salary too...you know, just because

If that is the case we should give them the privilege of acquiring Verbeauty instead

Why would they get rid of Sharp?
All you hear about is his cap hit, but he produces well over it.

Edit: I understand cap relief is needed, but moving Sharp over Hossa?

Its ridiculous, Al. Kane has improved his overall game so much since he came into the league, the old narrative is laughable.
- Elbows15

Kane has improved the last 2 years more than anyone and I think he still hasn't hit his ceiling.

Kesler?

He's a locker room cancer?

No. There's a bunch of posts on it a few pages back. Replaceable internally, valuable to the other team, 2C in return.

The Hawks need to get better at the center position . Its Obvious .

Logicallly you have to trade from strength , and on this team strength is at Wing and Defense.

One or some of those players (Sharp , Leddy , Oduya ) are attractive enough to get the Blackhawks a Center (top 6) and or some cap relief . Thats why Sharp seems logical to be traded .
