Bollig is a decent forward.....but can't keep up with quick/fast teams....and as far as the hawks being soft...just because they don't goon it up doesn't mean they're soft.
- UnnamedSource

Gooning it up is one thing, laying hard hits on people is a different story. As far I as I can tell, Bollig, Seabrook, and Bickell are the only 3 players we have who can actually knock anyone off their feet. Plus Bollig improved his skating throughout the season, and proved he can actually score. Oh and yes, I don't mind that he can actually fight if needed (and is the only one on our team who can besides little Andrew Shaw).

Hamonic for Bollig and a 6th

deHaan for 2 nights out drinking with Patty Kane and a half eaten deep dish pizza

One of these years I'll make it up there and look you up. If you're ever down to catch a Hawks game and want to make the drive to Rockford to see the IceHogs, shoot me a PM.

sask is really a place most people should visit, it is unreal. within hours you can see forest, prairie, rolling hills, a desert. so much to see moose, elk, deer, antolop, eagles, if nature is your sort of thing.

He wants $7m on a long deal.

Did not think Hawks had that kind of flexibility.

Except for that year they made it to the playoffs with Nielsen on the team. Leddy sucks.

All this fighting and hitting....you do realize the Hawks are a puck possession team so if they are outhitting their opponents it means they don't have the puck...

Can you all imagine what it would have been like to have Rocky as owner in the Pre Cap years. now that would have been fun.

I'm not picking on you but I'm going to use your statement as an example...

Everyone.....know your team!

The Hawks team is built around defense......more or less defense creates offense. The whole transition game is built around the hawks d men getting the puck out their own end and up the ice.....if they get rid of Oduya and Leddy to get the great 2C everyone wants and plug those holes with rookies....the transition game is non existent....and therefore makes no difference who their 2C is......

My "they" is either Sharp/Leddy or Sharp/Oduya, but my "they" is not Leddy/Oduya

Being a armchair GM is maddening. If SB is looking 2-3 years ahead he has to have an idea of where the cap will be. Given that potential dance partners might not want to dance. He has to start with the internals.

88/19, those numbers are a known value (to him). The hawks have had their post season talks and Q has made known his impressions on the current roster. All we can do is guess where the hawks shortcomings are based on who he played and when. Morin, Regin, Brookbank hardly saw ice time and are due contracts Nordstrum and Runblad are sighned but were non factors. Smith-due contract, Handzus-due contract, Bollig had a little more. Versteeg and Leddy were benched while making some nice coin. So the Hawks keep 4(maybe) of the prementioned?
So who? Versteeg's contract keeps him here, if Leddy is moved Brookbank stays, Bollig stays and Smith should get a contract. You might keep either Morin or Regin but I'm guessing not. That leaves a D-spot which I think Will be filled from Rockford.
Pirri is gone because he was not the answer to center Kane. TT is not the answer this year unless there is an injury. Losing Zus leaves us a PK center short.

So the new #2 will be a bigger guy who can kill penalties with a 4M cap hit or less.
Now who is dancing? Tampa, Montreal, Ottawa?
Who is the best fit?

No he isn't a decent forward. He is passable largely because the Hawks require somebdy to drop the gloves occasionally. Beyond that he is an AHL player.

And Mark Streit was horrific towards the end with the Islanders. If Sharp ends up with the Islanders, REALISTICALLY who do you think the hawks get in return?

Morin and LeBlanc for Z Smith.

Good deal.

I like his size 6-2, 212 lbs and his FO% last season was 52.7%.

You do realize that laying hard hits on another teams forwards slows them down during the game, right?

My point is..they were a much better team two years ago when Nielsen was 28.....last year even if Tavares and Vanek they were not going to make the play offs.....move him now.

You have 20+ goal scorer with an easy cap hit.....that is huge value considering everything on the FA or trade market is 5 million and above....trade him now...get pieces for the future which will make your team stronger in the long run.

With the Hawks you have a top 5 system in terms of prospects......it's a win/win on both sides.

Spent some time north of North Battleford in the Jackfish lake area. Magnificent countryside, lush rolling hills....but, most important the most magnificent sunsets ever seen.

You do realize teams that try to hit a constant moving target wears them out in a 7 game series.....like St Louis.

Disagree..he is. The fourth line of Smith-Kruger-Bollig was consistent for most of the year.
