It was me

If you think it's worse than doop your crazy.

That and the flyers stole it from a soccer team.

Pathetic.

That Rangers goal song is terrible, but it's not worse than Doop.

I did not care for Doop.

I don't understand why the (frank)ing song played after a home team scores is a big deal

Would anyone be ok with just say a swap of contracts?

Vinny to MTL for Briere?

Danny only has one more year on his deal. Could be a winger for Schenn and Simmonds? I think his hit is 4 mil.

Im just happy to see the Dreger believes there is a chance he can be dealt. In order for it to happen both sides (VLC and the Flyers) need to want something to happen.

No hurt feelings, just a direction thing. Vinny, you work with us and we will try to accommodate you as best we can.

Get a 2nd round pick and Ill be ecstatic.

- MBFlyerfan

Well if your agent is contacting the Flyers about getting his client moved I would think that happens. He obviously wasn't happy with his season here and falling to the 4th line was a blow. The Flyers can't be pleased with his season so they ill both move on it seems.

Honestly, the signing was a head scratcher at the time for me. I thought they were trending younger in their deals. If they were going to sign Vinny they may as well have held on to Briere IMO.

I always thought you couldnt play the puck with your hand in the crease. Was that ever a rule?
- jak521

No. It's always been close your hand or cover the puck with your hand. He did neither. It was a good play. When it disappeared in the shot from inside the net, on the shot from in front it moved under Lundqvist's pad. Stepan never covered it.

I thought it meant B Schenn or Couturier was being moved in a big deal. Once the summer went by and that never happened, I became confused as well by the signing

We're moving Couturier because he's a bust. Possibly Laughton, too, while he has value, before he becomes a bust as well.

Salaries aren't growing nearly as quickly as you think -- just do the math.

$4.5M today = ~$4M in 2010 as a proportion of the cap.

- Tomahawk

That's a straw man argument. It's not about math. It's about supply and demand. Agents, GM's and players aren't getting out their calculators and figuring out percentages based on the history of player salaries, when negotiating deals. What it's about is the scarcity and availability of quality defenseman on the market. Take a player like Niskanen. He's a very good player, but he's not on the level of players such as Doughty, Keith, or Piertrangelo. But he's going to cash in big time. And as the cap goes up, and defenseman become more and more of a premium, salaries are going to escalate. As are cap hits, now that the back diving deals of the past to lower cap hits aren't available.
Fans see a number such as 5M for a player like MacDonald and it scares them. It's not that big of a number. It's really not. In fact as salaries escalate, as they always do. 5M is going to quickly become cheap for a solid all around puck, moving top 4 defenseman in this league, if it isn't already.
Now when looking at the Flyers situation, they have a player such as Grossmann, who is a good stay at home defenseman. But he plays a hard game, and already has banged up knees. So his value to a team in a trade could deteriorate over time. So if the Flyers can move Grossmann, and add a younger, in better shape, more mobile top 4 defenseman in a decent deal, that would be a good move for the Flyers in my opinion.

Because a) I don't want to argue with you and b) what happened right there was just hilarious. Do you even understand what the joke is? Because if you do, I don't know how you're not crying laughing either

Yes, I get the joke. The point is that your reply is personal towards the poster instead of what is supposed to be discussed, which is the opinion offered.

Only in a negative light, of course.

1) Why/how Hextall will be terrible
2) Our defense will never be any good
3) We'll screw up at the draft
4) Worst goal song of ever time.
