I think Nash is trying but I also feel he has a hell of a lot more to give. I have seen him make power moves to the net but he's not exactly playing as hard nosed as a guy like Simmonds does every game.

I don't think anyone can honestly say Weber will be just as effective at age 39 as he is now at 29.

He's currently one of the top 5 defenseman in hockey. Defenseman like him can play for a long time. Chara is in his late 30s and still one of the most dominant players in hockey.

Obviously in his prime you'd get more but you trade Weber for forwards now you end up waiting for your D to fully develop. You trade Jones now and you'll have forwards developed quicker while Weber is very much still in his prime. It's a no brainer for me.

Overall, I'm still of the opinion they should have made a trade right then and there on the draft floor when Jones fell to them.
