He's missed 41 games do to injury since 11/24/10 (over roughly 3 1/2 seasons), 30 of those have been in the last 2 seasons.

It's cause for concern.

Part 1 of why I'm strongly against Kane.

I am glad Ek does not have the sabres on the Olli list

I can't believe Leino is on that list. I didn't think anyone would want him.

Yes. Not sure why. Just don't feel good about him. Hopefully I am wrong.
- ImThatGuy

Can't fight feelings I suppose. I guess all I would say is give him another year to better your opinion of him. If he regresses, I'll join you.

If Leino gets bought out, someone will sign him at his entry level deal. Fax.

As much of a disaster Leino has been, I think the Sabres ruined his career. He was solid on the third line of a very deep team. The Sabres were the opposite of that. On top of that, they believed he was the consolation prize in a year where they were supposedly hell bent on acquiring a top 6 center. He was destined to fail. It was the equivalent of going to Tops or Wegmans to shop for Thanksgiving. They're all out of turkey, so instead of going elsewhere, you bought a ham instead.

I don't know!
If he was so good, why didn't the Flyers resign him???
I just think he had a good playoff stat for one year, and we got fooled for it!
I guess there are lots of ways to look at Leino's situation.

The Flyers didn't re-sign him because they knew someone else was going to overpay for him. That didn't mean they thought he was not serviceable. If the Sabres had signed Leino at 3 years and even $3 million a year, people would barely bat an eye. The problem with Leino is that the Sabres signed him to a contract he had no chance of living up to.

Flyers didn't appreciate Leino enough to want to re-sign him.

Leino just needs a coach that will use him correctly. Fourth times a charm.
Leino just needs a team that will use him correctly. Detroit traded him away. Philly refused to re-sign him. Buffalo bought him out. Fourth times a charm.

You are very very correct, but he seems like a man with little integrity. I think the money is all he needs to be happy. And he has it.

Pysyk + Armia + stl 1st.

I've soured on Armia.

I think he will be really good. His first year in NA and he had a hand injury or something near the beginning of the season then had a BEAST playoff performance.

that happens with ufas. if i remember correctly, richards was the best center in ufa, followed by a third line winger that we tried to make into a center, and what was left of tim connolly. if you wanna try to fix your problems in ufa, you have to treat the whole thing like youre playing with monopoly money. leino was never going to live up to that contract, but it would have been less of an issue if he actually was one of the top scorers.

To paraphrase from what Armia said at the end of the year, He said he has to work harder than ever this offseason and he said it was tough to get adjusted to the pro schedule.

I expect big things from him and Grigorenko. People are going to forget that they wrote them off as 20 year olds

Let them play together all year this coming season and they can slide in as the Roy/Vanek sort on line 3 next year with the big club
