Maybe Marchand + Boychuk + Subban for Kane. - mventres
Boston would be stupid to make this trade. |

I like Boychuck. I think Marincin would be good deal. Boston gets younger and cheaper, we get a solid pro. |

I think crazier suggestions have happened. I'm certainly not giving up Reinhart or Pulock, and I'd really like to hang onto Pokka. But we have a lot of B-level defensive prospects that might fit in the Bruins system. Mayfield and Pelech project to be good defensive d-men. Graham could be a good offensive defenseman, but I guess they have Krug filling the smallish offensive guy role. I'd be fine moving Donovan too. There are options. - eichiefs9
Boston getting the 5th out of that deal would be crazy, draft a really good player that could even be in their opening day line up. If I was a Boston Fan I think I take it |

I don't understand how people go brain dead when it comes to talking hockey trades. The big trade at the draft last summer was Ottawa's deal for Bobby Ryan. They paid exactly what Anahiem said it would cost. A top 6 skater, a top prospect and a #1. Boston got a great return on Seguin.
So, when Winnipeg says they want a top six skater, a top prospect and a #1 pick from 2015 you need to know that at least five teams will give it a shot based on that ask. So, the threshold decision is not what you think will get you the player. The primary question is do you want to get into the bidding. |

Its a tempting deal thats for sure. Islanders get better instantly now...not sure if you need both Clutterbuck and Marchand...but Bruins sacrafice good players, and depth for cap relief now but get a really good pick to help rebuild that depth. - DDM-Coga
Why? Marchand scores 20 goals a season and Clutterbuck doesn't. |

Same agitator/pest who take as many penalties that they draw. Granted Marchy has more offensive pop but look at what happened to St Louis when you have too many of those same guys on your team. I think you just move Clutterbuck if you obtain Marchand (still didnt like that deal for Nino, but Hands were tied with his pouting act) |

I don't know man. Clutterbuck didn't take a lot of bad penalties last year. I see Marchand as a top 6 guy and Clutterbuck a bottom 6 guy. I think there is room for both. The team doesn't have a lot of sandpaper to their game to begin with. |

I love Boychuk and think Marchand is a good player but neither are go to guys. Boychuk is a good #3-4 and Marchand a really good 2nd line player but Kane is a top like, hard nosed, elite in the making winger. To aquire s guy like that requires an overpayment usually. Winnipeg would surely demand and require a top level prospect in any deal sending Kane away |

Fair enough, depends on how you deploy them, could be decent. Now just fix your coach in Capuano and you will be laughing this offseason. What do you think he has for a time frame? If there isnt an over 500 record by decemeber he gets canned? |

I think the problem with the Jets moving Kane for Marchand and Boychuk is contract status. Boychuk's only got a year left until he's a UFA. In general that's the combination of players the Jets would be really interested in but I don't know if they'd go for it given Boychuk being nearly a rental. Unless they thought they could re-sign him. As a Jets fan I'd be somewhat happy with that move but would really like to see Kane playing on a line with Scheifele and Wheeler next season. I think that line would just be deadly.
Also, anyone questioning Kane's effort hasn't watched him play. Even though people may think he doesn't want to be in Winnipeg, he's consistently the hardest working player on the ice. The only on-ice things people have an issue with are that he complains too much to refs and doesn't seem to get calls because of it, and he takes some selfish penalties. But his effort level is always there. Even the off-ice stuff is so minor that in most cities no one would care or even notice. |

I like that Islanders are just going for it this season. Halak, try and get Boyle, keep the pick to draft or maybe even trade. They are going to do whatever possible to make sure that the 2015 pick to Sabres is not a lottery one |
