Remember that time the old white guy on here called me a racist?

I was in a good mood the whole rest of the week.

Those crazy, hazy Lupul, Upshall, Frick, and Frack days are over.

Kane could start it all over again.

Kind of like how Sinatra restarted the Rat Pack.

You lost me at "dangle Voracek".
- johndewar

I would trade Voracek for JvR in a heartbeat. In a heartbeat! I don't see much of a difference between Voracek and JvR. Both have pretty good speed for players their size, nice hands but JvR has the threatning shot that Voracek does not. I don't even think JvR missing in the shootout this year, which could collect more points in the standings. Just my opinion.

Nobody replied for obvious reasons bro.

To put it lightly....on this one, you're 0/2

I just counted three responses including yours, so I'm not sure what you're seeing but feel free to enlighten me. Two of which might be trying to Troll me but I'm guess I've hurt his and your feelings in someway. Still not sure how but not my problem. I'm just putting out there a couple of questions that I think might be a good idea to consider. I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me, like so many expect others to do for them to ease their broken hearts.

It's been just Hartsy and Gusty lately. Quiet. And now no Gusty.

The Coburn package for Weber I'll pass on. If Nashville can keep Weber until Jones becomes the next big thing, they can do that...but they still aren't getting a Cup.

However, if people feel Giroux doesn't need a pure shooter on his wing, that's mind blowing to me. We've seen what Gagne could become with the greatness of Forsberg. Crosby is making Kunitz right now. Malkin is making Neal. Getzlaf and Perry. In my opinion Giroux cannot make Voracek shoot the puck, so I'm asking if you the fans would upgrade.

These talks of getting Kesler. Boring! Doesn't make sense. No need for him.

But if you disagree, you disagree.

JVR is a good player but personally I like the things that Voracek brings to the Flyers.
I wouldn't swap them one for one. Voracek was their best skater in the series against the Rangers this year, he is the guy along with Giroux who can take over a game.

I agree with getting another top wing to play with G. Then I'd split up G and Jake and create two great scoring lines.

Maybe they'd take Luke Schenn for him?

Too obvious?

They really haven't replaced Luke Schenn since they traded him.

They could right that wrong here.

After they trade Phaneuf for Thornton at the draft they'll need to shore up that defense

Voracek is a much better player now and will be a much better player in the future. So...yeah no I'll pass.

The package surrounding Coburn would have to be astronomical to get Weber. No, I won't be trading Coburn, Schenn, 2 firsts, and a second. That's insane. No thanks.

How broken is your heart at this point?

Last night I was kind of thinking outloud and I left a long post of rambling, so I decided to try again.
Ron Hextall is coming from a team that has a legit number one defenseman in Drew Doughty. We do not have a Drew Doughty. Getting a Drew Doughty will be a tall task. So I ask, if getting Shea Weber meant keeping both Luke Schenn and Nicolas Grossmann, while not resigning Timonen and shipping Coburn plus to Nashville. Would you do it? The future is bright for Nashville as far as defenseman with offensive ability and nice puck moving ability but they might be missing a capable shut down defenseman if Weber is moved. Laviolette knows Coburn. Laviolette knows exactly what Coburn can do. Coburn might even be to Laviolette, what Hatcher was to Hitchcock in the late 90's. So does it make sense for Nashville to trade Weber for let's say Coburn (who is roughly the same age as Weber), two high draft picks and a young player of theit choosing not named Couturier? Personally I don't think Nashville will ever get fair value for a Shea Weber.

Also would you dangle Voracek to Toronto or Ottawa for Ryan or van Riemsdyk? This isn't a knock against Voracek but I do feel either guy is an upgrade to play with Giroux. While Voracek has nice speed for a player his size, great hands and impressive passing ability, both Ryan and JvR have impressive hands as well but specialize in their accurate shot. We need that. Giroux needs this.

What's on the UFA market just isn't doing it for me. Sure you can fill holes that way but not the way we need. I say try and take advantage of a team that needs to make room for cap space or looking to move on from certain players that clearly have no future where they currently are.

They have Jake Gardiner to whine about while he racks up the minutes riding the bench so consider that hole plugged.

If the NHL puts that on the table in the next CBA negotiation. There won't be a season that year.

Hmm 22 year old blossoming Center for a 32 y/o defensemen who doesn't score much. This is EXACTLY what's going to happen, isn't it?
