I mean, a brief head-snap is fine because that's normal (like people sitting behind home plate that flinch when a pitch is fouled into the screen); but the hand up to the face, the prolonged arch of the neck, and the one-kneed spin is embellishing that Claude Julien would jizz all over.

Oh come on. The Habs always do this and everyone female doges that the ref doesn't call a 4-minute penalty.

Ridiculous isn't the issue. I think it's clear that the Bruins were the best team in the East this season. Did the Rangers make it to the SCF? Yes they did. Does that mean they are the "best" team in the East? Not automatically, no.
- hscesq

i think if Boston was really as good as everyone made them out to be, they would have won more than 7 playoff games. maybe all the difference is simply goaltending. but still.

Looking at the play, it wasn't reckless at all. It was 100% intentional. There's no chance that was accidental.
- 3M

it it's intentional it's still reckless.

Boston is/was really good; they just ran into their kryptonite in the playoffs.

Meh, the Habs don't dive as much as the Bruins, but they're still pretty good at selling the high sticks.

yeah. but it's still a pretty reckless high stick by Richards that is a 100% legit penalty.

How did this become the issue? Nobody is disputing that it was a penalty. It's the amount of spins he performed following the infraction that's the issue.

And again, luck plays a huge role in winning a Cup. In 1986, everything worked in the Habs favor.

I agree. Except for all those times that they get clipped and don't get the call.

Isles beating Pittsburgh in 1993 sure helped too.

Brad Marchand saw this and giggled at how amateur Brassard looked in his spins.

Did you know that the guy who does the engraving on the cup had to start all over after Fraser missed that call?

The Rangers will be in the Finals every season other than the next lockout season from 2014-2023.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them miss the playoffs altogether next season.
