If the Flyers were able to beat NYR, Pitt, and Mtl, they'd still be demolished by this Kings team. The Kings are just too good for them in a 7-game series.
- jmatchett383

The Kings also feel like they can come back from anything, because they have. Barring injury to Doughty or Quick, I think they have this. But if the Rangers can put together a sustained game like they had a period 1 last night, it could be interesting.

I do wonder whether LA really played that much better in periods 2-3 or Rangers played that much worse. Or was it a combo of LA rising a bit and NY fading a bit.

I think it was a bit of both. The Kings are a bigger, stronger, better team than the Rangers have faced all year. No matter how much they prepared, I just don't think this is a beast they were ready for. And I don't think some of their defenseman liked how hard they were getting hit.

Also, hate the cheap poop the Rags were dishing out, but that's nothing new this year.

still have a hard time seeing former flyers in another jersey. JW was one of my favorites with the flyers

I got over that after the first Kings finals. I was so happy for Gags then, not so much for the others. Now I'm just so impressed with them. Love Justin. And know they aren't there by choice, so how can I hold it against players I loved in O&B?

I thought the Kings looked to be pushing the pace more than usual and were getting themselves out of position, allowing a stronger Ranger counter attack. Overexcited it looked like. Once they settled down, they looked more themselves.

See, I never got this. I never had a problem seeing Sharp, Seidenberg, or Mark Eaton winning a Cup just because they were former Flyers. I had a problem with Sharp because he did it on Flyers' ice, and I didn't like it when Fedotenko did because he always burned us.

THe Rangers speed definitely bothered the Kings throughout the game. Their speed produced a ton of add man rushes and breakaways.

I think the key to the series is the Rangers ability to capitalize on those chances. The Kings are going to outshoot and out chance them overall. The Rangers will still generate some high quality chances imo though.

I wouldn't take him at #17 and at #48 I'd probably be looking at Dysin Mayo
- ob18

Mayo is the sexy name in the mid 2nd. The Flyers will never take him. I wouldn't be surprised if he went late first, early second after his Memorial Cup performance. Some team will jump.

Carter has been great. He looked great again last night. Sutter bumped him up to play with Kopitar and Gaborik. He put Williams with Richards and Pearson.

Also, there was something else I noticed at that Cup celebration and it happened last season, too. The reporters crowd around those guys so close and they actually almost trip some of them. 2 guys on the Kings rocked a little bit on their skates trying to avoid media/cables that were right on top of them. Give the guys a damn buffer.

When the Hawks won I didn't watch the cup except for Toews and Sharp (I had friends tell me so I could turn around to watch Pat with it). If someone left as a free agent, I would see it differently, I think. But I was so hurt by the Carter/Richards trade. I was at lunch, feeling nothing was going to happen when it went down. Got back here, read the thread, and cried (yeah, I'm a girl, so what ).

Well think about the Flyers cup win - with the mass of humanity that literally overflowed from the stands onto the rink.

That was different. Back then, they just did a victory lap, players weren't handing it off and having a personal skate.

I saw as more of the Kings were not prepared for the pace that the Rangers played at in the first period. I thught that the Kings wore them down as the game went on, as well as a combination of the Rangers not being able to sustain that pace. I see that as the theme of the series.

I was on Sanibel Island in a convertible. My buddy calls me- "Dude...you gotta check NHL.com. Richards and Carter just got traded."

I was asking him the return, and was pretty pumped right away, actually. Hated losing those 2 obviously- Richie especially- but I was ecstatic with the haul, especially from the Jackets.

I believe Wilson was more of a physical player with possible offensive potential. Also plays with a nastier edge then Hayes. I see Hayes as more JVR type. More a finesse player for his size. Would probably need to get more agressive.

I actually felt the same way. I was disappointed and excited at the same time. I was excited to see Giroux get top line and top PP minutes.

I was really excited to see the team finally take a step back in order to take 2 steps forward. I felt they were finally going to build from the ground up. I was wrong.

Come on now...not completely

They brought in Mason, and have some decent prospect that are close to NHL ready. They gave Akeson a shot. Laughton will be up next season. Morin needs to be groomed. Alt and Ghost are borderline NHL players.
