I see no scenario in which MacDonald would be fine with a trade to the Oilers.

Flyers would be better off not asking him at all. It looks even worse if they ask him and he says no, then, go ahead and trade him anyway. Lol.

Flyers: How would you feel about a trade to Edmonton!?

Amac: I would be highly against this.

Flyers: Oh, well, we traded you anyway.

- PhillySportsGuy

Carter: I'm hearing rumors about you trading me.

Flyers: Hey Jeff, we're not trading you. You're a core player.

Carter: Thanks. I feel better now.

Flyers: Glad we had this chat. By the way, we've traded you to America's armpit.

"chris, what allowed the kings to get back in it?"

"well, i, uh....just didn't take out their goalie with a hockey play gone bad, and uh...yeah, that's basically it. we just can't let the other team's goalie finish the game if we expect to win. we need to go harder to the net. it's disappointing, but we'll move on. just the first game. i'll have plenty of opportunity to kamikaze quick on saturday."

"thanks, chris. good luck in game 2."

- hammarby31

He was too busy butt-ending Doughty in the face. Goalie injuries were on the plate for Game 2. Game 1 was all about dirty hits to the top skaters.

Can we stop comparing RFA contracts to UFA contracts?
- Feanor

Only if we're not comparing superstars. So, yes.

Girouxs 8.25? RFA contract
Doughtys 7? RFA
Subban will get 8 on his RFA deal

Doesn't really matter. Rangers locked him up on a great deal. Hartnell had to be locked up till he's 37 to get a semi manageable cap hit.

The point is what would a player like Giroux or Doughty get if they went into the off season as a UFA, and had teams bidding against one another, and wanted to play that game.

And does how old the player was when the deal was signed have any relevance? LOL

Not much more if any. Pretty sure giroux scraped every penny out of the flyer on his deal. Doughty at the time wasn't worth much more than that, I guess unless the flyers were bidding on him

Getzlaf and perry deals were right in girouxs wheelhouse as UFA's They are a couple years older but they also won a cup

Egregious turnover by Girardi last night. Had a simple, safe pass available to McDonagh.

Carle was the fist player I thought of when I saw that sequence.

Nah. He never entered my mind. I saw a dman flub a pretty simple play that cost his team the game. That's vintage Matt Carle.

It happened. And the puck happened to end up in the back on the net behind Lundqvist. I guess in the grand scheme of things not a big deal since the Rangers will win the next 4 games.

btw, my team won our spring A league last night. just like i said we would. close through the first half, and then we blew them out.

and i had a beer and then went on my merry way.

the other goalie is literally captain leg pads. i wasn't losing to clp.
