Reinhart is top name on Sabres board followed by Draitsal then Ekblad then Bennett. Obviously things can change but that is where we are at. If FLA takes Reinhart for some odd reason they will trade down for whoever wants Ekblad but only to #3 or #4 and no further.

Ehroff to DET is still lead candidate but price is very high for DET

Stewart is in play as well but not too much traction so far besides OTT

Moulson could very well end up back here but it really depends if he can wait on winning and be a leader here.

Ott has BUF in mind if he reaches that stage but it is far more likely he signs with PIT or anywhere else at this moment. Same type of deal as Moulson..be a leader and get paid or go have a better chance to win a cup sooner

I contest that any UFA who signs in Buffalo this summer, doesn't place a very high priority on winning the Cup.. And therefore isn't really what we need .

So I wouldn't even pursue ANY FA's. Focus on swinging a big trade with all of those picks!!!

Pop in on draft day when every flips there poop if we take Ekblad.

"Darcy is gone but it's like he's still here" like a few weeks after Murray was hired

It's predictable, yes.

Well hey... It could all be smokescreen.

Murray doesn't exactly have a body of work to base any predictions off of.

You have to sign a few and pay them well to make the cap floor . If you do not make the cap floor , you do not get a piece of the revenue sharing . I guess you could do that if Pegula wants to throw away that money . Problem is someone will scream we are tanking on purpose and demand we lose our draft picks.

If Ekblad was just so much better than the other top picks you would have to pick him . But He is not . At the world juniors the two best defensemen already belonged to the Sabres . Ekblad is going to be good , just not an overwhelming choice as number 1 prospect.

I remember mentioning Stewart for Lazar a while back. If TM has the chance, I really hope he adds in what he must to pull it off. Big fan of Lazar.

Lazar for Stewart won't ever happen. Like you said Murray will have to add a lot more to that package. Why not a package centered around Stewart and Hodgson? What could we get back in return for that package from the Sens?

This seems a bit different . I bet he Does make it back. And would be glad to have him here.
And Drury never said he wanted to come back after being on another team.

Way too much , for a player not proven NHL level yet . You are trading away 9 million in Salary we need right now to make cap floor as well.

You can't make that trade right now . We have all these guys on entry level deals . We have to keep guys around that make real money to make cap floor . I am interested to see what happens with Hodgson moving to the wing . The kid does have some tools . He could turn out to be a good 2nd line winger.

Agreed on Hodge idea on the wing. Was just an Idea for next years draft.

We are still are going to have to spend money . Here is hoping Stewart has a great year and we get a good return for him at the trade deadline.

Speaking of which, it probably wouldnt kill us to grab a center in free agency. Ideally it would be a guy thats both due 4-5 million, and probably on the wrong side of 35 so it only has to be a one or two year deal. Looking at the pending ufa list, nobody jumps out. Looks like koivu, legwand, or jokinen.

This team could use some guidance . Just hope the guy they sign for that isnt a Richard and we end up stuck with him for tooooo long.
