It won't happen. You'll be screaming after a month of him doing nothing out there and his value is gone. He should be moved before the draft.

The other GM's know what he's like unless stee dot is now an NHL GM.

Eller breakout year? Maybe score 20 for 1st time?

I added them to Chuckie and Gally.

De la Rose wins Calder and pops 22.

He has the talent, but he just doesn't seem to be able to sustain it.

Well, that would do it, sure. Thing is, nothing really points to both these things happening. Gallagher may come close, but I don't see Chucky there yet.
Mouslon wouldn't be a bad pick up. I'd rather have Vanek though.

- hscesq

Vanek is going to the Wild and he will take less money. Gallagher and Chucky have to get back together and the Habs need another big body to play with Desharnais.

Nice to have a top level Swede on way. Best since Naslund?

Why is everyone so sure that Minnesota WANTS Vanek??? From what I have read in certain publications, and from what I've been told by a few insiders (more insider than I am, but not necessarily correct) Minnesota isn't running to get him.

That would certainly be nice. Naslund was some player though. His stats are very impressive.

Is it possible that Rene Bourque, a guy we all wanted gone during the season, kind of "saved" the habs post-season?

Ellet is a 3rd line center and he has to accept to be mainly a shutdown guy. If not, you move him.

I'm ready for a little step back and introduce Beaulieu, Tinordi and Pateryn next season. Even if it means struggling to get in the playoffs

I mean, yes, there are a lot of positives in a run like that and very often, one player stands out.

Problem is, that particular player, isn't (in my opinion) in the long term plans of the team.

Agreed. That is why they will offer him the same deal as Pominville and he will take it. Minnesota has some good young players making their place on the roster.

And if you play L on L and R on R do you suffer through the growing pains of
Tinordi-Subban
Markov-Pateryn
Beaulieu-Weaver

thats alot of kids to work in, but I agree you have to get them in eventually

He needs to be given the chance and not be afraid to make a mistake.
Chances are that these guys will have to mature in the next year or 2 so we can work in yet more kids

He surprised me in the playoffs. And believe me, I think we all see the potential. But Marty is right - he is entering his prime and so now is the time if ever.
