Vanek had ZERO chemistry with Plekanec and should never have been made to play on his line anyway--Plekanec's job includes a lot more defensive coverage than Vanek is either capable of or suited for temperamentally. Vanek should have been put back with Desharnais and Pacioretty when the ECF started. Gallagher would have been fine with either Plekanec or Eller.

He said he didn't had any specific injury that was hampering his play

Hard to put a finger on it when it's your "give a damn" that's injured.

I'm choosing not to believe that.

That's weird if it's the case.

Completely taking what I wrote out of context.

I'm saying that Gallagher's bar won't continue to rise. He is a serviceable 2nd line winger. Not some young superstar in the making or top line threat. I doubt he consistently breaks 30 goals a year if he even does it once.

He will need to evolve his game as he gets older because his style will eventually end in some serious injuries.

The comparison to Higgins was simply that of blind love. Fans and bloggers alike used to think Higgins would be the Habs next 40 goal scorer and if you said otherwise you would of had everybody on every board jumping to conclusions and exaggerating the post.

All I said was I think what we see Gallagher do now is what we get. Which I'm quite pleased with but to think that the sky is the limit and that he will only get better is dreaming.

I remember those days. Good times.

I also remember an argument I had with Adam (I think).

Adam: "Gomez has a great shot."
Stormey: lol
Adam: "What? It's great he just misses the net a lot."
Stormey: "WTF is great about that?"

Howard: "See you in 4 hours."

Ah. The notion that we have the ability to tell if a player cares or not.

Eller has size that he can learn to use better.

Plus I never said Eller would get better. But I'm glad you insinuate that I wrote something just to make yourself seem more clever.

- blarneylad

I wasn't saying that YOU suggested that Eller could continue to get better.

Vanek should have stopped dragging his feet and worked harder. Would have made Therrien happy to reunite him with Desharnais and Pacioretty.

He only has himself to blame.

It's a hypothesis, yes.

I also said earlier that he seemed disinterested, but I didn't care whether that was the case or not.

Well, when you don't even believe the player when he says he's not injured...

No.

Our best line in the playoffs was Bourque-Eller-Gio.

There were enough players left to make up some lines without touching that line.

Seriously...Nothing was going on, and he used Gallagher to bring back a spark on that line...worked for a bit.

Vanek peut ben manger un criss de char de marde. Ça va faire le flattage dans le sens du pouelle. C'est pas une criss de garderie ou un country club comme les Islanders icitte.
