It is. I'd like to add prospects as well as anyone, but if I can get a really good 24 or 25 year old, potential top pair defenseman...
- Jsaquella

I'm not willing to move Morin, Ghost would be next hardest, followed by Hagg.

i feel you on this brah

lavine does intrigue me a bit though i admit.

if the sixers take McDermott at 10 i will erupt

- Crimsoninja

McDermott can't guard anyone in the NBA.

Lavine has absolutely no feel for the game. His basketball IQ would need to improve at such a drastic rate. I don't think it's possible. He could have used at least 1 more year of college.

I believe the position change had to do with poor play. He didn't deserve to be a 2nd line center.
- PhillySportsGuy

There is no question that he played poorly when he came back from the back injury. And he obviously wasn't 100%. Hard to say what a proven player like LEcavalier deserves, when trying to play through a significant injury. And again we see the injury as a factor omitted.

Lecavalier has a better corsi % after returning from his injury...

Dates Corsi-For Corsi-Against Corsi-For Percentage
October 2, 2013 - November 30, 2013 236 309 43.3%
December 21, 2013 - February 8, 2014 244 295 45.3%

- FlyersSteve118

Corsi is Corsi. It's dependent on a lot of factors besides one player. And really the difference there is miniscule.

Through the first 8 games of the season, prior to his injury at Washington, Lecavalier was shooting at 19.2%.

Given that he was a career 12.1% shooter entering last season, it's very unrealistic to expect him to sustain a 19.2% over the course of the season.

The injuries were a factor for him. But he also didn't play well late in the season when he himself stated the back was not an issue.

Again, more troubling is how does he fit in the Flyers intended system and style of play? Over the last two seasons, at least, his possession numbers are not good and he's not a great skater. From what has been said by the coach and GM, the Flyers will put a greater emphasis on these two areas moving forward.

- Jsaquella

Lecavalier is a proud player. He's not going to use injury as an excuse. He was obviously not 100% or as strong as he was in the beginning of the season. And then the position change. All of it contributed to his poor overall season.
Again, this is the issue with Corsi. Every player is judged under the same brush. Every player does not have to a "driver of possession" to be an effective player. There is a lot more to Hockey then Corsi. The playoffs have proven that.

He saw less ice time and games off going into the playoffs and looked terrible. That's the point. I don't think bc we'll ask him to play 14-15 mins a night we'll get the kimmo of a couple years ago back
- Just5

Nobody is expecting to get the Timonen of a couple of years ago, back. But Timonen is still a good player. And if there are no other options, then bringing him back for another year makes sense.

I don't think any player is gonna admit that they're hurt or what a trade or anything along those lines. Everyone up and down the organization will stay tight lipped if possible. That's why you have "Upper body" injuries of "lower body" injuries. Stories come out after the fact, like when a big name player is suddenly traded. It's absolutely not supernatural.

If we can sign Timonen for 3 to 4 million and he can play at a less but still effective role, of course I would have no issue with this. At the same time, he is in decline. We've seen his play drop. I don't wanna drag his name through the mudd if this just so happens to be the year he can nolonger keep up. People have short memories and right now we're the ones desperate for a Timonen return.

There is no question there is a lot of this here. Even this morning. One view doesn't trump another view if the points are valid. There are pros and cons to each player up and down the current roster. With this said, disagree with one person on this board, the entire board assumes you're here to troll and will turn against you. Well, I prefer to stand my ground with or without support.
