that's why, as i said earlier, i would hold the fort if i were the hawks and don't make a bunch of knee jerk and rash moves cause you lost this series - Flyfreaky
It was a great series probably the best one in the last 15 years. Crawford had his struggles but its not like he was playing against the Sabres.
I think Crawford is an above average goalie which is all you need in this league especially if you are built like the Hawks. |

Both re-sign. Hawk's challenge in this re-sign:
1. Quenville pairing Kane with players that keep up and finish his plays. They botched him this year, Versteeg, Handzus, etc. He was pacing top 3 league points all year until these moves were made.
2. Bowman getting some talent at center while being cap constrained by Toews and Kane's new contracts, somewhere in the $8-10 million a year level.
Chicago could have an off year or two waiting for the cap to rise along with our prospects. - OnlySix
They already got their cups, they're gonna want to get paid. They will get between 10-11 million. |

Reminded me of the VAN-CHI series back when the Canucks were actual contenders and the Hawks were even more stacked. |

the only way they get that much is if they hit free agency and a bottom of the barrel team like buffalo, florida, vancouver etc overpays to land them.
they aren't going anywhere. 8-9M, chances are they get identical contracts. |

(frank)ing Burke wouldn't get a solid goalie. Waste of a good team. |

it's hard to believe that the canucks have never sipped from the cup |

Is it time for me to say told you so" LA NEW YORK was a destiny of NHL referees and microchips with eyes...... In the pucks.
If New York I will be the most tweeted guy in the NHL. But let me say beforehand. New York wins the Cup, its done and its arranged. Just like Chicago being defeated was "arranged"..
Can anyone else explain the behaviour of the bounces in game seven? No? Didn't think so. |

Well if you have the option to choose from 8 million or 11 million a year, and already won the cup twice, logic would dictate to go elsewhere |

He doesn't know what he is talking about. More Canucks have sipped from the cup, than any other group of people. |

Give Kane a decent center and wing and he could lead the league in scoring. As a Hawks fan I don't blame him for wanting the Hawks to get a legit #2C as he
has had a revolving door of line mates for the past 2 seasons. The Hawks need to listen to him because they need both Toews AND Kane if they want to continue to compete for the Cup for the next few years. |

they can easily get 9M from chicago, they won't have to worry about money the rest of their lives, so you do you honestly think for an extra 2M/year they would live in buffalo and play for the worst hockey team? no one in their right mind would do that, buffalo is a joke. |

give crosby decent linemates and he will make his scoring lead even larger. only way kane outscores crosby is if crosby is injured. |

Yea you're right. What's an extra 14 million. |

Kane is 25 yrs old. He's not some aging vet with no rings, who'll play for peanuts to finally get a cup. He just showed the hockey world, definitively, that he's the most talented, explosive, clutch player in the world. He is going to get PAID. Dominated a conference final on a line featuring bottom6 Shaw and a guy in 1st full season in league? yet he's treated like Deputy Strate to Toews' Boss (Ice)Hogg? If his agent can't get him 8 yrs for $10 mill per, a C on his chest, and a decent passing center, then maybe JayZ is ready to expand into hockey. Thats a no-brainer for Buffalo (and prob many others). |

They are rebuilding . What don't you get about that ? Come back in three years when your over paid Swede twins are falling apart and Buffalo is loaded for a long run of cup runs and talk to me. How many cups have the Canucks won again ? And what makes Your franchise that much better than ours ? People that live in glass houses should not throw stones. |
