I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. He does his research on player's history and such, but he's far from some draft/prospects guru, the guy's been dead wrong so many times, just like many others. At best, I'd hire him as an amateur/prospect scout, but I bet he gets paid more now than an amateur/prospect scout does.

I feel sorry for Pens fans if they hire him.

The Hawks have to keep them if they want to stay a contender.

Pros: live in a sweet city where I've won 2 Stanley cups and get paid to play with toews

Cons : go home and play in buffalo ........not happening

Both re-sign. Hawk's challenge in this re-sign:

1. Quenville pairing Kane with players that keep up and finish his plays. They botched him this year, Versteeg, Handzus, etc. He was pacing top 3 league points all year until these moves were made.
2. Bowman getting some talent at center while being cap constrained by Toews and Kane's new contracts, somewhere in the $8-10 million a year level.

Chicago could have an off year or two waiting for the cap to rise along with our prospects.

Kane's not going to sign in Chicago because it's 100% certain he's going to sign with the Sabres, you know, because South Buffalo.

As for Buffalo, when they're cup contenders or Kane is Hossa's age you may get your long awaited 88 Sabres jersey. See which happens first.

I guess they do not understand sarcasm in Chicago . He was being Sarcastic . No realistic Sabres fan thinks he is coming here . Only the dreamers.

Some folks just need to get their two cents in . Even when it is a useless comment.

I am sure Chicago will do everything in their power to keep both guys.

However I think Toews is their first priority and IF it comes down to Toews or Kane, Toews is the guy they resign.

The only thing that could keep Kane from staying in Chicago is if he wants to go to his hometown team. He is a large fish in a huge ocean in Chicago, he would be the biggest whale/shark whichever you prefer in a small pond in Buffalo. He is already treated like a god in Buffalo imagine if he actually played for the Sabres.

Toews will be resigned I think Kane is closer to 70/30 on resigning in Chicago (70 in Chicago's favor)

Wait a couple of years and see how full Buffalo's system is with Talent . Will be different decision then . I still think Chicago giving him and Toews a blank check to stay.

This! Getting rid of Darcy was huge step in the right direction for the Sabers. It appears Murray will get them back on track and then could begin to attract premier free agents.

They will be 9 million dollar players. Saad is playing for basically an hourly wage right now and he is going to be easily 4 million per.

Even not counting Leddy or Kruger (both HUGE role assets on the team) you need to find at least 9 million dollars to resign Toews and Kane, Saad and resign/replace Leddy/Oduya Kruger.

The ONLY WAY any of this works is to trade a player making at least 5 million per.

NO, this is gonna be hard and it's gonna hurt. Deal Sharp this summer and you'll be fine...hang onto him and you're gonna have a brian Campbell trade Part II...you'll send a high priced and gifted player to someone for a big bag of Suck (Rostilav Olesz).

- kwolf68

Never thought I'd say this, but the way they have broken the Kieth/Seabrook pairing up is telling me Seabs at $5.8 is open to be moved. I watched several goals go in while Seab's let men behind him. Oduya, possibly, Bickel was not Bickel this year. Sending 1-2 of our toughest players out is crazy, but real when the dollars come in view.

It's going to hurt to get this done, but it will get done only question is how long does it take for Hawk's to heal, 1 or 2 seasons?

Penguins get:

2014 1st overall pick
2015 1st round pick
Kulikov
Huberdeau

Panthers get:

Malkin
Neal

- Bure102687

Can't see that happening. Now, Malkin to Montreal for one of the greatest players of all time (Briere), that's a whole different conversation. Hell, Briere and Simmonds could have netted both Malkin and Crosby.

I've been reporting for a while Kane is much less likely right now to re-up in Chicago than Toews. It's not that he wants to be elsewhere so much as he wants a better sitiuation on the ice for himself in Chicago, i.e. a quality 2C.

personally, i wouldn't (frank) around much with this team

they just lost a tough series to another powerhouse team and i feel their goaltending was the main issue (to inconsistent)

not sure i'd even go for another tender, but i'd give crawford another year to redeem himself

I think this is the funniest comeback ever...because what would have happened if the Hawks won in overtime? Everyone would be making fun of Quick, neither goalie played their best in that series.

dude, i agree, quick was the luckier of the two

i think crawford lost it for chicago and i would have said exactly the same thing about quick, had the kings lost the series

I think it was expected both goalies were going to struggle. Those teams are built with such firepower that it was bound to be a shootout.

Crawford and Quick were fed to the wolves on numerous occasions

that's why, as i said earlier, i would hold the fort if i were the hawks and don't make a bunch of knee jerk and rash moves cause you lost this series
