I absolutely would not be shocked if Draisaitl goes ahead of Bennett, because I think both Reinhart and Ekblad are both ahead of them, in both ceiling and NHL readiness.
- buffalofan19

Honestly you could put all 4 in any order and it won't suprise me, and that includes Ekblad to us at 2 and Draisaitl at 1.

IMO these top 4 players all have the potential to be great, it's the fact they are so close that is making each of them under rated in a way

I'm always wary of the guy that comes out of nowhere (Bennett) to the top of the charts. We're all going to be wondering what the hell happened to Draisaitl in 5 years. I called it months ago and I stand by it. Admittedly, this is my gut more than anything else.
- buffalofan19

Players have to come from somewhere, not all have been drooled over since they were 12-14 like Orr, Gretzky, Lindros, and Crosby. I'm just wary of taking a certain type of player in the top two unless he is a can't miss top line talent. When a player's skating, and demeaner needs work I'd rather take the other forward. I called this months ago, and even though he had trouble doing pull ups I stand by him as the better choice.

He absolutely has that skill level IMO

He is just as good of a playmaker as Reinhart too, another part of his game that gets under rated. The reason he won't go 1 is because he isn't NHL ready. Reinhart is farther along in his development

- sbroads24

To be fair, I don't think anyone in this draft has that ceiling or skill level. I just think Ekblad is more likely to reach his closely followed by Reinhart. But I don't think i'd be upset if they went with Bennett. I'm willing to give the new guy the benefit of the doubt.

Instead of drafting Ekblad or one of the Sam's, does anyone think that they could trade the pick for a king's ransom?

And by that I mean the other teams first round pick, and a proven player?

I don't think it will be awful if the Sabres took Ekblad. It would hurt my vision of how they best would rebuild the team by drafting a strong. talented forward but if Murray and the boys think he's too good to pass up then so be it. Ditto if they take Reinhart and not Bennett.

I'm not big on that because the Sabres don't get top two picks often and that is where you most often get the best players. If they traded the pick for another 1st and a proven player that 1st would most likely be a lesser talent, one that we are used to seeing the Sabres pick and it would really depend who that proven talent would be.

Well I think it's proven the Bennett isn't strong now... LOL. Id be happy with either sam or ekblad doesn't matter to me much. But seriously your a top 3 NHL prospect this year and you can't do one pull up! My sister can at least do one pull up haha

IMO because there is no clear cut #1 the top 3-4 guys are severely under rated because the waters have been muddied so to speak

I was using the word strong when describing his talent. I would like to have seen how many pull ups Gretzky would have done at 17 with those chicken arms.

What a game from Martinez
Flukey goal...
But he was the lone defenseman back on 3 different 2 on 1 Chicago rushes that he played absolutely perfect each time
Sees me game

I've absolutely loved Doughty in these playoffs, though he was down to earth today.

I disagree on Draisaitl. He will be this years Barkov and go ahead of 1 of the Sams.

Bennett also is incredibly gifted. It's not like he's playing 2nd fiddle to a superstar and has inflated stats, he's blowing up on his own merit.

I have watched all 4 of these guys.... Quite a few times.

All 4 are incredibly close IMO

I like draisaitl a lot too

He looked absolutely exhausted at times tonight. What a series this was. One of the best that I've ever watched.
