Guy has like 10 brothers and sisters. Huge Irish American family.
I remember they showed them during the 24/7 HBO thing. - Marc D
Do they all turtle when a real tough guy wants to fight them, and then find the smallest guy they can and start a fight with him? |

He just doesn't have great defensive instincts and he doesn't move well enough to make up for it... like a Taylor Pyatt can.
Alderson is a guy that could maybe do what you're talking about... he moves well and he's big, and supposedly pretty good defensively.
I definitely don't think they can waste cap-space on bringing in "marquee" 4th-liners like Boyle, Moore, Fiddler, etc. Guys who can skate a regular shift on the 4th-line are a dime a dozen... no reason to spend more than you have to.
Just get Rinaldo/Rosehill out of the top-12 and the group should be much improved. - Tomahawk
I don't think you have to have great defensive instincts. Not asking him to be a Selke level forward, or a top Pker. Simply asking him to remake his game, and become a player that will be in a better position to help the Flyers. He's not going to do it as a scoring line player. He can skate well and can play physically. A player like that should be pushed in a different direction developmentally at this point. Are you telling me that every forward on LA has great defensive instincts? It's something that can be taught and learned. |

My natural instinct is to root for the underdog team after the Flyers are knocked out.
The Rangers are going to be heavy underdogs in the finals.
I can't root for them though. I don't really hate their team this year outside of a few players like Dorsett and Carcillo. What MSL did leaving Tampa was a little grating too. It will be weird cheering for a favorite to win. If Chicago pulls out a victory I might not watch the finals. Don't like them either. - Marc D
agree with all, especially with that last part about not watching if it's chi rags, |

I'd love to add gaustad. But not at that money. - MJL
Retained part of Lecavlier's salary, moved him for Gaustad and Bourque.
I don't paying like Scott Hartnell nearly 5 million dollars to fall down twice a shift. It is what it is. Gaustad is only signed for 2 more seasons, giving us a year to keep Laughton in the AHL should we so choose. |

I, personally, don't think McGinn has NHL talent. I know he's still somewhat young, but I have been largely unimpressed with him in his stints. I could be wrong, and that would be fine, but it's how I view him. |

I just used whatever CapGeek has the cap set to for next season.
The roster is easily doable depending on the timing of trades. - mochoson
It's not easily doable if they want to maximize Pronger's LTIR. The cap is likely to 1-2M lower then 71.1M. They can't even maximize Pronger if it's at 71.1M with that roster. |

I think Clarkson is a hell of lot better then he played last year. He may not add up to that deal. But he can still be a good player for them. We'll see this year. - MJL
agreed...he had a tough year....suspended...hurt...never got the pp time he got in NJ....I would love the Flyers to bring him in....last year was an aberation as far as Im concerned....obviously im in the minority. |

I don't think he has NHL talent as a scoring line forward either. Which is why I think he should try and remake his game into more of a checking line/4th line forward type.

I could see him blooming late like a Bryan Bickell and riding shotgun to more skilled linemates successfully... but I don't think he's got the makeup of a guy who can do the 4th-line/PK thing. |

The Flyers need to bring some youth in to compete.....they probably need to move one contract out via trade....to me there's a lot of room ...Im sure the braintrust has a plan. |

I see him as a 4th line possible 13th forward. He can pop in a few goals here and there, but the Flyers seemed to want to put him on a scoring line. I just don't see him sticking here is all. |

But you want to pay Bourque and Gaustad? Hartnell had 15 more points than both of those guys combined. They're 4th liners |
