When you watch LA play, every player backchecks, and plays well defensively. Hell even Gaborik looks like a 2 way player there. Every player has bought into playing the right way, and it's obviously demanded out there. But probably both the coaches and the player leadership.
When you look at the Flyers, and their defense, what it is one way to help makeup for deficiencies there, if they can't add the personell they need? That's for the entire team to committ to taking less penalties, and becoming more consistent in terms of overall and defensive play. If they don't, there are oing to be a number of defenseman on this team who will be next years whipping boys. And what is the excuse for players like Giroux, Hartnell, and others to becoming better defensively?

I was shocked when Trevor Lewis left Handzus and skated towards the puck carrier on the game winning OT goal the last game. The guy with the puck (Saad I think) already had a man on him. Left Handzus wide open down the middle.

You rarely see LA blow their coverage like that, even against the speedsters on Chicago.

Cap is likely to be below $71,100,000. And this will not allow the Flyers to keep Pronger on the roster until opening day, to maximize LTIR. And no way am I paying Gaustad that money to center the 4th line.

I think Clarkson is a hell of lot better then he played last year. He may not add up to that deal. But he can still be a good player for them. We'll see this year.
