The fan base down there seems pretty indifferent. I don't see much passion from them. Blasted Poile for matching that Weber offer sheet.
Is Poile blind in one eye now? Thought I read that somewhere. - PLindbergh31
I was down there for a game and they seemed pretty fired up. There's apparently a lot of transients who come from hockey cities, so they have a fairly strong fanbase. I just don't think there's much corporate support. |

see. now, this really is a shame.
ill humor this initially. letang? i truly believe should they so choose, they could move letang without keeping a red cent. might not get a huge haul. but most certainly.
fleury. no. i dont believe that.
scuderi, i most certainly dont believe that. id move a 4th rounder with him just to be rid of him. because he is a, oh yeah, a negative asset.
now. aside from the fact i have absolutely no ownership stake in the team whatsoever, literally 0 players on the pens have one scintilla of relevance when discussing and evaluating VL. if youd like to just agree to disagree thats fine. or change the subject, thats fine too.
but changing the subject, as a foundation of your argument, is not good at fostering credibility. - stayinthefnnet
Letang has red flags now. Fair or not. Also his no trade kicks in i think july 1st. He is a dyanamic player but For what he is getting paid now will probably have to keep some money. i think you will see a lot more trades where teams keep some money as a way to get better prospects or picks.
Fleury you might be right. Teams always need goalies so maybe you don't have to keep any money.
Scuderi is not getting you a 4th rounder. I don't think he gets moved unless they take a 6th. |

You think your pens will be able to move Letang or Fluery without keeping some money. Letang could have another stroke anytime and makes a lot of money and is not really good in his own zone and Fluery has shown to be inconsistant in the playoffs. - J35Bacher
I would take either for Vinny straight up. |

I don't think it will be that easy. Teams know their situation. I think some will have to be retained. - J35Bacher
i dont think the pens even look to trade letang. although who knows. it was shero who was in love with him.
that being said. there is no way they have to eat a penny. what is their situation? they dont have to trade letang for cap reasons. sure, they are going to lose niskanen. but i would rather letang for one million more than niskanen.
i think trading letang is something they should look at, but from largely a hockey perspective. not a forced hand cap maneuver. |

no no no. you misread or i mistyped.
i would move a fourth rounder WITH scuderi.
fleury, i could see needing to retain salary. i dont think he is god awful, but he makes 5 per year. thats a lot for what essentially averages out to an average goalie.
but letang. no way. i understand he has flaws. he isnt going to bring back say pietrangelo and david backes or something nutty. but, he could be moved without retaining money. |

What's the most money the Flyers can eat on Vinny's deal? Is it like a max of 50% of the deal, or an actual dollar amount? |

I believe it is 50%. I think they are charged 50% of his cap hit and responsible for 50% of his real dollar annual salary. |

I'll just let Hextall/Snider do it instead |

ovechkin was minus 45 or something. But i take him in a heartbeat. We could have used some of those 45 goals in games we could't score. Players have roles. his is to score. Knowing that his line mates have to maybe pick up the d a little bit more then normal. But i know the Flyers could have used a sniper like him - J35Bacher

I wouldn't move the 4th with Scuderi. Since losing Orpick I would just keep scuderi and the pick. Almost better value to keep then what you would get moving him.
For letang and Fluery we will just have to disagree then. I understand my opinion is not popular. I understand what Letang brings but for what he will get, and with the medicle history I think money would be retained.

being gay is not a bad thing, contrary to what simple minded folks may believe. so i dont even necessarily take it as one.
but judging by your context, i assume i am somehow ruffling your feathers. i will leave you be if you are incapable of having a difference in opinion. |

What, you don't think Vinny L and A Ovechkin are identical or at least fairly similar players? I mean, they both can skate, use hockey sticks...that's pretty much all there is to be the same, right? |
