VL is a negative asset for a team to have on their roster. MDZ is not PK Subban, but he has at least some value. Same with Kevin Klein. Both just young D projects. Nothing more, but nothing less either.

And that type of asset has some value still. What did Runblad fetch, and he has supposedly fallen much out of favor. Im not certain but I believe a second?

Vinny is not worth a second to be rid of.

- stayinthefnnet

Vinny isn't a negative asset. If teams were recruiting him last year there would be interest. He did score 20 goals while also playing on the 4th line at times. he is a big body and still can shoot on PP. There is an asset there. You might have to keep some money ut a deal can be made.

it's too bad that raffl doesn't have much ability to finish, and for tht reason i can see him down on that line. still i'd like to see him have opportunity on scoring lines. at least for awhile.

i have no clue what laughton will bring as a player, but it seems like he's going to be relegated to 3/4th lines.

- hammarby31

If Laughton is ready to play in the NHL next year I see no reason why starting as a 4th line center and maybe some PK time would hurt. The first year is a tough transition anyway. If be can play 12-15 minutes a game in that role that is not a wasted year to me. He can always move up later if warranted.

Hal Gill, Scuderi and Vinny need to join Jason Allison in whatever league he's currently playing in.

It's what Mike Richards did. He turned out okay.

Kevin Klein is only Anton Stralman locked in at $2.9M until 2017-18... garbage.
- Tomahawk

those are the types of players the flyers should be looking to hit on if they dont want to bite a big apple.

but VL isnt getting that done.

honestly, i think the rangers got the better of that deal. i like klein better than MDZ, although MDZ does have a higher ceiling.

if raffl could finish, he would be awesome. have to love everything else the guy brings. same with brian gibbons. guy routinely got a short handed breakaway on each PP, but had literally no clue what to do with it.

gotta hook them up with some sort of hands/sniping training

- stayinthefnnet

I would look at Brian Gibbons. i think he is a FA. He has speed to kill and kills penalties. Also love taking players from Pens. Could play on urth line

If he's interested, he'd be a fair bottom-6 pickup.

Possibly. But when you look at things hey make sens Nashvile needs scoring. Lavy runs a system Vinny likes. If he is not getting to play center and getting minutes he wants here i am sure he would waive them or a better chance to play which nasvhille could give him.
- J35Bacher

They don't need a stationary scorer, they need somebody dynamic who can outmaneuver guys like Keith/Seabrook/JBo/Petro/Suter/Trouba/etc.

i really, really dont understand why people dont get that VL, now, as he stands (or sits, his back might ache) with his current contract attached to him now, is NOT the same asset as VL this time last year. that is not transitive, and you cannot apply that to him.

Hey, here is this scratched off lottery ticket. its already a loser. but yesterday, it was in the machine for 5 dollars. i mean it should still be worth 4 right?

I think you guys underestimate what Vinny gets you. Your not getting a primo prospect but you can make a deal. You keep some money and the deal is better. MDZ for Vinny is a deal that can be made. Nashville isn't giving up Seth jones here.

That's your fault for buying lottery tickets. The best way to get quick money is insurance fraud.

Bittersweet story for Wellwood. He was a fast player with good hockey sense & would be a great fit for the Flyers now. It's great the Generals got him into coaching so quickly and started his career on the other side of the bench.

Best of luck to him.

- Jsaquella

My thoughts exactly. He is the type of player the Flyers need right now, but I'm glad to see he can transition into coaching after such a serious injury.

He'll come over, be awesome and score ~20 goals, have a bad injury the next year, and be shipped out early in year 3 for a washed-up former Flyer (Leino, maybe).

I don't understand where people like you think because he didn't work here other teams don't see him as an asset. The guy still score 20 goals. Didn't play on the top PP like hartnell. PLayed 4th line minutes sometimes. 20 goals is nothing to sneeze at and a team like Nashville who only had 4 and one was weber might see the offense as something needed over his shortcomings.

in 2 years, if you had to pick one scenario to be more likely, for him to be on the IR for the majority of the season, or still be scoring 20 goals?

a budget (ish) team like nashville cant afford to have dead weight like that.

You're right...we need to wait until he scores the only 2 goals in a Game 7 SCF win, THEN we sign him and he lights you up in the postseason.
