I think the MacDonald deal helps set the market for Stralman. He may not get as much, but close. He'll be one of the top defenseman in free agency. - MJL
yup. a few years ago hed be a guy you can get an hour or so into the signing period for like 3 years at 2.75/3 a pop. and would be the type of signing that really makes a relative difference. |

Cap wise, your roster is doable. - MJL
But i want more then doable. I want it to be a change that can help the team be better. I thnk Raymond as a nice blend of speed and skill and scores on shootouts. Griess can be a nice back up. Had good numbers last year behind smith. Komarov brings a good skating and skill and grit mix that fits for the new team system of speed and attack |

I'm not sure B Schenn will be signed for Couturier money. Think it'll be over 1.75M |

I actually think the Weidman signin was what changed the market. Made average guys start getting more |

What exactly players will sign for, is a guessing game. As is how player will perform. |

Hi first deal was a weird deal so he had a high cap hit. I think he will get the same type of bridge deal as Couturier. He scored 20 goals but Coutuirer plays harder minutes, kills penalites, plays in end of game tough situations that schenn doesn't |

I got it. I think the mix is good and still leaves cap room for something at the deadline depending on what you need. |

if he signs for that little, he must really want to not make waves in flyerland.
coots got that bridge deal off of an awful developmental year.
i realize he brings more than goals, but goals usually translate better in salary demands. schenn did score 20 last year, and everyone is banking on more. plus, just the nature of salary in general now is to trend higher than before. |

Vinny for MDZ??? LOL. (And why would he be willing to sign for less than his qualifying offer?)
Tyler Johnson set the market for Brayden Schenn -- you're looking at $2-3M per just to start the conversation.
Way too much money tied up in Raymond and Komarov.

Snider cant be happy that New York may win another cup within 20 years - vejim
they are not beating LA or Chicago. They might make it a series but thats it.

Watching the fourth line for the Rangers last night made me want a better 4th line so bad. i know we need upgrades at other places. I just feel the fourth line could be so much better and take some hard minutes off Couturier and not be a liability out there. - J35Bacher
according to some, the 4th line is irrelevant and is never the reason a team wins or loses a game. yeah, well, the 4th line was a big reason why the rangers beat the flyers, and it scored the only goal in an elimination game to put them in the SCF.
the 4th line matters. |

Their offensive numbers are more similar than I just imagined they were offhand. Didn't realize Couturier had 39 points this year. However, had Couturier waited until now to do the bridge deal, I think he'd get north of the 1.75M he signed. If that was all it'd take to get Schenn, I can't imagine it wouldn't be done already. |

Lundqvist is the equalizer. In two of the 3 Cups Finals these teams have won they beat Michael Leighton, and Old Man Brodeur. |

1. You can give him a longer deal and a chance for more minutes. Kind of what the Flyers did to Mason.
2. Brayden is an RFA so the Flyers have leverage.
3. Raymond made 1 million last year and Komarov will need to be in the 2 range. If no Komorav I would still look at Kulemin too. |

Could you imagine Vinny in the Central? That's an entire division that can skate, especially dmen. |

Have to think Clarke would like to take that comment back. Was one of the most insensitive things I've heard someone say. |
