Englom is closing in on McGuire as a broadcast nuisance
- grinder10

Pisses me off that NBC has kept the same crews for the same series.

The last two Cup Champs get the NBC B-team (and that is a very generous designator as Albert and Engblom are awful) and the two diva teams in the East that haven't won a bollocking thing in two decades get the better crew.

I have my complaints about Olcyzk and Pierre, but they are that much better than the goofs calling the Western finals.

Hopefully somebody will throw up a CBC feed for the next game as I always seem to find only NBC for streaming.

Eddie O., is on NHL Live on NHLNet right now. When asked about Saad last night, he said it was the best playoff game by a Hawk in the past five years. He was asked to repeat it after a commercial break, and he repeated his statement. I watched the replay today and Saad was indeed unreal last night.
- mohel

How does that bode for the next game? If Saad has to play that well for us to win we could be in trouble. Also, for Saad to play that well the Kings will have to continue to assign two guys to Kane, does anyone think Sutter may change tactics?

Slash can play again as far as I'm concerned. Just be happy it's not a group of American Idol kids. It isn't is it?

Now that you're a ref, which I just figured out on one of your last few posts (still hurting from last night), are you going to make me change my avatar?

The #1 team does the series with the most interest and with Montreal in with NY that trumps LA/Chicago....East coast bias always and a big market team from Canada so that's not hard to understand.

Also NBC tries to keep home based announcers away from the team they work for....That what they do for national playoff telecasts they avoid the
homerism tag.

Now if it was small market teams in the East Doc and Eddie might be here now.

Hello 66, how's it going? Exciting OT last night, eh? What are your thoughts about game six? Sorry if you posted that earlier and I missed it.
- mohel

Hey Mo, that overtime was the most entertaining period of hockey I can remember other than when Kane lit up Luongo with the hat trick a few years ago. That 20 minute period was played in 26 minutes. And that includes the almost 2 minute shoveling the ice timeout. That's smokin. Has to be some kind of record. And it was awesome.

As far as the game in LA I have to think advantage Kings. But the worst bet in town for the last 5 years is betting against the Blackhawks. So I don't know. I look for Sutter to adjust his matchups and am curious as to how the hawks staff reacts. No prediction but I hope to see a furious violent chess match between these two teams. And I hope to see one team win the game as opposed to the other team losing it. And I think I can make a little time this weekend for a game 7 if I have to.

Hard truth #1 - The League wants LA versus NY. Like the goodfellas say, "Nothing personal, its business." Oh yeah, they could package that with a triple crown Belmont featuring a Cali horse running at a NY track. Thats serious business baby. Get used to a steady dose of those blatant trips and fwd interferences and constant stick slashes, cause they aint getting called.

Hard truth #2 - very entertaining OT last night (that 8min stretch w/out a whistle, whew), but both teams in the east will beat either of these teams. Top six looked good on both sides (it took Hawks 5 games to find a 2d line? Really!!?). But the eastern teams can neutralize that and have far better bottom 6. Goal play out east has been superior to the unconfident scuffling from Quick/Crow. Plus get your backups ready - running the goalie is SOP in east.

Hard truth #3 - quote from Kane after game 5: "Personally I thought [Saad] was the best player on the ice." This on a four assist night? Translation: "am i really helping this kid put the nail in the coffiin of my bro Sharp? Am I punching my own ticket to Buffalo?"

Not sure how I feel about that.
