You can make fun of me - to an extent. As long as it's playful and not an all out offensive attack. That goes for everyone in conversations with everyone else.
Also, we got to stop bypassing the profanity filter. That can't happen anymore. - EKolb13
How come there's no profanity filter for "screw city"?
If I can't type "D..." as someone's name without it coming up "Richard", "Screw City" should wind up being "threaded fastener city" or something.

Don't blame them. They've got plenty of crap to deal with in other places... - EKolb13
Just saying. I think its long overdue that the Hawks thread had a ref. |

It's REALLY called - when a team knows the refs won't call it....
One of the LA posters, earlier today, said that one of Sutter's tactics is to take out the wing on the weak side at the blue line.
If, by take out, he meant some physical action, wouldn't that be blatantly illegal - be interference by definition - on the weak side? - StLBravesFan
Exactly, but would the league have the balls to call a penalty on most rushes? |

Do it on five and the practice stops. |

What is the rule there? I have always (35 yrs of playing hockey), always slashed at guys sticks when they don't have the puck if they are my defensive responsibility. It has only been recently in the Men's league that I've heard opponents whining about it being unfair. I don't ever recall getting a penalty for it, so I'm curious about what you can and can't do in the NHL, that I seem to have gotten away with my whole life. - DirkGraham
Dirk, between faceoffs and guys like you in my leagues--I'm going back to using more 2-piece sticks. Love the performance of the 1-piece; hate the costs.
It is interference or even slashing |

Specifically the other day when the Rangers fans were running a muck, would have been nice to have a Ref on duty.
I'm not saying we couldnt handle it, but theres times where I'd rather we just didnt have to handle it. |

The works wonders, don't be afraid to use it. It's the best way to alert people when things are getting out of hand, all refs see them and can come look at what's happening.

Honest question -- should something on the page happen after that "!!" icon gets pressed? Usually it returns me to the page with a reload -- never really sure that anything happened. Thanks for any info.

After any good hockey play, instead of continued description of the action who has the puck etc. you are bombarded with NBC superlatives for whomever on either team that did something good, or you are subjected to the repeated finger pointing at individuals inside a team game. (Yes YOU DO KNOW the game, FOLLOW the sport fanatically, but the talking heads are beating the drums so loudly that you can’t help but internalize both the important and not so important banter of their expert analysis of the bad.) - wiz1901
So true. Many times you just don't listen just beacause you're simply tired of constant loud analysis. Interesting it's absolutely different in Russia. They can speak about players parents, history of the city, players childhood, previous games stats, anything for hours until the goal happens. Or be silent for a minute |

No, nothing happens on your side unfortunately to know that it happened.
That button appears to get used more often by mistake, my guess is from mobile users with it's proximity to the Quote button, so there are always a lot of false reports we have to clean up |

one thing about this series between the hawks/kings is it has been free of all the cheap shotting and yapping between coaches and players that is going on with rangers/habs..
I think that's the way it should be. Kings and hawks are to highly skilled and well coached teams....just don't need all that other BS.
If any team has been chippy with bad pens...it's the hawks. Ole Willie Mitchell does hatchet job out there but other than that....very clean and very little post whistle Richard waving...
noticed on the zus goal..richards did a fantastic cup check from behind and then tripped over quick...worth a chuckle

It was a little chippy right around the first or second game. After that, it leveled out... |

Eh, Brookbank did just fine when he subbed for Seabrook during the St. Louis series, and at this point the team would have to rely on him if it needs another defenseman in the line-up. - EKolb13
Agreed. In some offensive rush situations Rozi is better though.
PS: you're the ref now? congratulations! |
