>Shaw's health looms large -- if he can bring most of his speed to Game 6, Hawks chances are greatly enhanced - SnapitUpstairs
He was hurting when he went off the ice last night. Good that he was able to finish the game at least. Still looked like he was in a lot of pain though. |

Nothing legal about it. Interference all night long. I saw the Sutter coached Sharks beat the heavily favored Blues in a series around 1999 or 2000. The Blues broke out of their zone from their high slot to the right wing at the blueline. The weak side left wings were flying and were looking to see what play to make because when the Blues got the puck to the center line they threw it over to the left wing. All series long. No matter what. But early on Sutter adjusted. Passive pressure on the Blues breakout but his right wing knocked the Blues left wing on his ass at his own blue line. Phuckin dropped him. So when the pass came across the ice the left wing was still picking himself up. And the puck turned over and away the Sharks went. And that was all series long. I laughed my ass off. This was before the 2004 lockout and it was a different game then. So who was the Blues coach who got tooled? Not gonna go there. But don't bother to ask any of the kool aid drinkers because they don't know. And they don't want to. - 6628
>I keep noticing Hawk players having to stop, reach down, and pick up their sticks during play -- courtesy of the King woodchopping crew
>It's a Sutter/Babcock tradition -- if you do it all game, every shift, refs won't call it
>Kings are slashing sticks out of Hawk players' hands well before the Hawk player arrives at the puck
>Two big adjustments for Hawks without the puck -- play like you have it -- cuz you are gonna get hit and chopped even though you do not have it -- and keep moving with emphasis on using your body to protect your hands |

Many might hate Rosenbloom, but he's right in his article today about Bollig

EXCERPT
"Brandon Bollig played 8:20 and still managed to finish with a minus-2 and a team-worst Corsi For of 18.2 percent. How do those minutes not go to someone who’s a threat to score? Or even a threat to forecheck with speed? Does Joel Quenneville hate Peter Regin, Joakim Nordstrom and Jeremy Morin so much that he taunts them with Bollig’s ice time?" |

I'd love to see Bollig AND Versteeg in suits for the next game, but I somehow doubt Q scratches Bollig even though B52 is doing (frank) all.
Hopefully the Regin for Steeg swap will be as easily made as I'd think it should be... |

What is the rule there? I have always (35 yrs of playing hockey), always slashed at guys sticks when they don't have the puck if they are my defensive responsibility. It has only been recently in the Men's league that I've heard opponents whining about it being unfair. I don't ever recall getting a penalty for it, so I'm curious about what you can and can't do in the NHL, that I seem to have gotten away with my whole life.

Rule book says it's interference. But if the refs don't make a call it's nothing. |

I always just called that playing defense I suppose when I break someone's $250 stick in the 40 and over league someone's going to be pissed. Oh well. |

You can make fun of me - to an extent. As long as it's playful and not an all out offensive attack. That goes for everyone in conversations with everyone else.
Also, we got to stop bypassing the profanity filter. That can't happen anymore. - EKolb13

I gotta believe if this were a reg season or early series game he might say: day to day we will know more tomorrow.
But I'm with you he was skating on one leg and looked to be in some discomfort to say the least |

It's called - when a team knows they can't compete, they will try any tactic to give them an advantage. Call it like it is - dirty play. |

It's REALLY called - when a team knows the refs won't call it....
One of the LA posters, earlier today, said that one of Sutter's tactics is to take out the wing on the weak side at the blue line.
If, by take out, he meant some physical action, wouldn't that be blatantly illegal - be interference by definition - on the weak side? |
