I really like the Franson suggestion, as you know. My honest worry though is that Carle might need someone to carry him. He's not worth the contract SY sent his way; I think we've all come to realize that now. I feel like we might need someone of a significantly higher quality on that second pairing if we want this team to be competitive. Maybe Franson works, but maybe he's not enough.

What do you all want to pass along for Ehrhoff? That could be magic.

Yzerman won't to do it either. Giving Boston more offensive talent is kinda counter productive.

I think it could get done for draft picks and players on ELC's. The Bruins could use some cap relief and the emergence of a few younger players could push a veteran blue liner out the door. A deal could both help the Lightning in the immediate future and give the Bruins cap relief and a deeper prospect pool that wouldn't come back to bite Tampa for a few years.

Ehrhoff's cap hit makes him attractive to me, but I'm not sure he's a fit with TB.

Gudlevskis, Connolly, Hart and the Rangers first.

I think you could get more than Boychuk for that package.

Boychuk is a 4th defensemen. I wouldn't trade a late 1st for
Him

Erhoff is a good player...why wouldn't you want him?

You read my mind, I was thinking something centered around Connolly

It's all from positions of strength. Gudlevskis will never play over Vasilevski. Connolly won't break our roster, Hart is A poor mans Erne and most likely the Rangers are going to the finals so it's a 28th or 29th pick.

He's actually more of a 2/3 that hits, blocks shots and can log big minutes in all situations. Not to mention he has a ton of playoff experience which could be a huge help to a team like Tampa.

That doesn't change my point.

Would you trade that package for a career #6 guy, just because of what you've stated?

Boychuk is far from a #6 defender.

Not saying he is one. That post wasn't in reference to Boychuk.

Just saying that Arty's point about where those pieces fit into TB's roster doesn't mean that the package isn't worth more.

It's a collection of prospects for a top defenseman that's a righty, has good size and a winning record.

The kid is amazing......I'd probably put him in, or damn close to the top 10 among nhl dmen. There aren't many I'd take over him.

I attended 3 world jr games in Ottawa in 09, and watched him and karlsson play as a pairing together. It was a beautiful thing then......can't imagine what it would be like now
