I am pretty sure Chicago is keying on winning the Cup now. Don't get ahead of yourself with your rumors.

Talk of trading Kaner is dumb and will go no where. 99 goals and 200 points at age 22 while largely playing with plugs for line mates until recently. Signed for 5 more years at a reasonable cap friendly rate. He is stupid fast and finally had 2 line mates who could keep up with him in Wheels and Snipe-Lee. This talk always originates with racist sportswriters (shades of PK, sound familiar?) Besides Chevy is way too cautious to make any trades, never mind a yet to peak youngster.
- ricroc

I don't think it's too dumb. The guys has that one move where he tries to beat the d-man on the outside then takes a shot which normally misses the net and then he skates behind the net to fall down. I never get tired of him doing that. IMO he hit his ceiling 3 years ago, best to trade him while his perceived value is high. I even think the Jets should try and trade Kane in a package for the Schenn brothers.

Kane to Penguins for Brandon Sutter and Olli Maata. Crosby and Malkin get their big time winger. Jets get a solid two way Center and up and coming defensemen.

Interesting to see Boston looking to add a young superstar forward, drafted in the top-5 a couple years ago... WHY DID THEY DUMP SEGUIN??
- TheJerseyDevil1

Because Seguin is a C, and couldn't adapt to the wing... Top 2 C in BOS are Bergeron and Krejci, Seguin isn't a 3L C.... Just plain and simple really.

They got a RW in Smith, a LW in Fraser and a LW/RW in Eriksson plus a good puck moving D spec in Morrow.

Seguin WILL be a 100 point guy in Dallas as he is a 1C with a winger like Benn.... He wasn't going to be a 1C in Boston.

It's hard to see why people can't see why it was a win-win for both teams

If Boston were to put together a pkg it would almosty cost more than it's worth, PLUS, they would need to lose Cap in the process:

Marchand, Bartkowski, McQuaid and a 2nd might be a decent offer..... But not sure it REALLY helps them in the long run to be honest.

Although I do like the looks of a line like Kane - Bergeron - Smith

For Dion? No way. Gardiner and Khadri maybe.
- Jeropotato

Be realistic.

Gardiner + Kadri will bring WAY bigger returns

Will the Habs be in on these Kane rumours once they're done with the playoffs?
- ehabs9

Obviously MB will be on this big time. He already did have discussions concerning Kane.

Plekanec and an nhl ready prospect for Kane might do it.

I think Evander Kane could do great in Chicago, but...

how does he fit here?

-our salary cap is maxed out. What higher priced player do we trade
-Hawks are NOT weak at wing, rather center. EK helps not.

His edge and physicality WOULD fit great on our team, but it would require a major trade to get it done and I am not sure moving a player like Sharp for Kane, potentially upsetting the chemistry while still not filling a hole is the smart move.

Hell, the Hawks are so deep at wing, Patrick Sharp is now a THIRD line player in Chicago...so it's not logical we'd add yet another wing.

Couldn't agree more saying Chicago is in on Kane is just making crap up. he fits no were in there system, is a cancer in the dressing room and certainly doesnt' fit in with the Hawks organizational philosophy. and besides we need a centre

I'd do Plek + Vanek's rights (Conditional 1st rnd pick for this year's draft if Vanek doesn't resign)

We'd finally have a center slot for Galchenyuk, we'd get a big winger to play on his wing too.

Put him on a line with whoever you want. He still will not pass to his line mates and will continue to take dumb penalities!

Sometimes a change a scenery can help. Blake Wheeler was total dogpoop in Boston and now he is playing well for you guys. He even learned to stay on sides! Hats off to Noel.

EDIT this is not a Kane to Boston sentiment either. They're TIGHT against the cap.

I don't think Vanek's rights worth anything considering all the speculation about him wanting to sign with Minn.

I don't know either if Plekanec would waive to go to Winnipeg but he would be a great acquisition for the Jets as they need a good two way center.

Also, it would work salary cap speaking.

I would definately see a Plek + 1st or a good prospect like Andrighetto or Pateryn.

The best thing going for the Jets is that a lot of teams will be interested in Kane and Buff. Some GM's have been known to overpay in a bidding war. I have no problem keeping both these guys as Jets but if the right offer comes along - see ya!

Then Kane will try and beat the defensemen on the outside and take a shot that will miss the net. Kane will then cruize around the back of the net, only to lose his balance and fall down. Then when he gets up he'll trip somebody and take a bad penalty.

Yeh, as a Jets fan, I don't want to see Marchand. Maybe he's a 20 goal guy for the Bruins, but on a Jets team without as much depth, I think he becomes an overpaid pest.

I agree with an earlier post... keep these guys unless someone throws a great package at us. Kane had good chemistry with Scheif before he got injured. We shouldn't be afraid to give that another shot.

Man, I'm like Chevy with my "no trade" crap...
