I kinda agree with trading plek, but with Gionta and Vanek it makes us real thin.

I don't think any of the youth is ready yet so that doesn't look too good

Why in Gods name would we make unnecessary changes to a team that beat Boston and made the conference finals? Everyone calm down, STFU and GTFO with the trade/blowup/tank talk.

I have a raging Subboner.
- CH1909-2009

Understandable. Probes the most star power player Habs have had in a while besides Price. Lot of cake but if he's your guy for the next decade do er up.

You forgot Brière and Prust. And if they trade Pleck, they can get something back.
- deadpoulet

Prust goes on 4th and Bournival moves up.
Can plek get us a top 6 winger?

Stockpile of prospect? All our best prospect that have enough talent to play top 6 one day are all small. We have a lot of D prospect but not forwards.
- ShafterBenRaide

All signs point to De La Rose being a bigger meaner and better Pleks.

McCaron will hopefully take a big step next year in Junior.

Reway, Lehkonen and Hudon all have promise

DLR, MCCarron are big.
- BingoLady

McCarron is going to be 3rd line or 4th line. Not much offensive skills. DLR if he develops well, might become a second line winger, but looks more like a 3rd line.

Then we have Andrighetto, Reway, Hudon, Lehkonen. All under 5"10.

He's entertaining which to me is even more important than necessarily how complete a player he may or may not be. It is after all, a GAME.

Pie, the d got run over on a regular basis in most games in these PO's.

To suggest the scoring didn't happen because they all collapsed in front of Tokarski is another myth.

I'd say they got beaten by a better team instead.

Bournival has no offensive talent. Great speed but zero finish. Can't see him moving up.

Agreed but Vanek is more than likely gone, I hope we don't resign Gionta and Galch needs to play C.
So really the only move is trading plek

Considering the lack of quality centers available, I bet he could.

Cuz we need to start comparing ourselves with teams like L.A. and Chicago if we want to win the cup.

I love Plek. He played well against Boston too. I would go so far as to say I'm not sure we would have beat Boston without him. He is one of the best PK players in the league. Yes he ran out of gas against NY but so did 90% of the team. I think unless you get younger and bigger for Plek, while replacing his FO% and PK minutes, which seems pretty impossible, you can't trade him.

They
Can sign a few free agents if need be that can do what gionta does. Lack of scoring is obviously this teams biggest problem. Anybody think gaboric would be a decent fit here?

I think it's a bit early to say McCarron won't develop and become a decent top 6, like Lucic per example. Give him time.

We had a winning record against West coast teams this season. WHo knows how that would have matched up.
