Who would have predicted that Rene Bourque would be more useful than Thomas Vanek before the playoffs started?

Probably fined.

That's right - crotch spears and head butts - just fines according to the NHL

Rene Bourque (8 goals in playoffs): 1st Canadien with hat trick in elimination game since Maurice Richard in 1945 (4 goals vs TOR).

That's why I named my kid Richard Bourque

yeah. we're starting to see why he's an AHLer. he can make some great acrobatic saves, but he gives up too many goals that you look at and say "that's gotta be stopped." he's got brass ones though. doesn't get rattled and that keeps the team settled down.

nowhere near as bad. i think one thing to consider with Lundqvist, and maybe the entire Ranger team, is whether or not they're running out of gas. this is a team that played 2 7-game series prior to this, and Lundqvist has seen a lot of rubber. i think that can be our only hope for game 6.

Habs need to take the game to the rangers in the opening minutes again
If Prust is in - need to establish the hitting game as in the Bs series
We can goad these guys into taking bad penalties if the Habs keep their cool

8:55 of ice time last night for Mr. Vanek

Edit: and he managed to be -1 even if the habs scored 7 and he had a point.

Good god. People are so self-righteous. Dave Maloney at the top of the list, screaming on the Rags broadcast that the NHL can't get it right, and how was that any different than Prust's and Prust was not penalized. This is the same Maloney that said Prust SHOULD HAVE been penalized. I guess he'll be ok with the two game suspension, seeing as that's what Prust received.

He made 1 nice back check to strip the player of the puck
I certainly did a double take to ensure it was #20

And he played well in that 8:55. Let's leave it as is and things could turn out ok.

So, who sits for Prust? Or will Weise perhaps not be cleared?

it was so ridiculous that TSN even played the soundclip this morning. the noise that comes out of that city/fan base regarding hockey... don't know how you do it man.

I don't really get what his point was. They all screamed that the refs missed the Prust call. Ok, they were right. Now, the refs DON'T miss the call, and it's still no good?

i don't know who you sit. Montreal has played well last two games. you can't sit Bournival, not against this team. he's perfectly suited to this kind of hockey, which for the most part is not physical. Briere has been useless last 2 games but i don't see how a guy with that track record in big games can sit. i don't see where Prust gets back in.
