I'm starting to accept that as a fact, as long as it's half of what he received on his previous contract... He can do a fine job on the third line.

i don't know. but what i do know is that the best GMs in the league know when to walk away from players, and it seems like this is the time to walk away from Gionta and Markov (unless he took a 2-year deal at this current salary). and if you bring back Gionta, please, please, please get rid of Briere.
