I can agree with that. Chemistry is a very nice theory but it doesn't explain the lack of effort, intensity, whatever you call what it takes to just go in front of the net and play physical.
- Not_Yan

maybe Vanek is the type of player who doesn't put in the effort if he doesn't feel the chemistry there? not sure, and not saying that's excusable. but against NY, they needed to get this guy going and nothing was tried. it was just left at status quo. Therrien did a great job overall but i think this was one area where he didn't get it done.

Maybe he felt Vanek would drag DD and Pacioretty down in his slump?

I don't understand why he didn't.

Or he never showed a reason to be rewarded by playing on the top line?

Yeah, we just don't know.

But I guess Therrien had his reasons. Good or bad.

I don't think pacioretty was anywhere close as bad as Vanek.
Would it surprise you that he's played one less playoff game than Gallagher?

He was Montreal's most "checked" player after Subban. I think it's just a matter of gaining more playoff experience.

Someone should ask Bergevin about player contracts and the status of them.
