Yeah exactly. The stuff that really boggles my mind are Ryan Miller type deals where significant assets are traded. And half the time the rental player seems to ruin the chemistry of the team. It's crazy how cheap vanek and gaborik were this year though
- FlyersSteve118

i was literally just going to say that. i guess there really wasnt a huge market for them. they literally went for dirt.

vanek bugs me, but he was at least somewhat important in the earlier rounds for MTL.

gaborik, i mean everyone knew the talent potential was there, but his output has been ridiculous. healthy, such chemistry. goal after goal.

He's been nothing short of remarkable.

I think the main things for Gaborik were 1) teams were probably just holding out on a deal involving him to bring the price down and 2) injuries.

Welp, kind of ironic I was watching "The World's End" when Ben Revere hit a homer.

I would never in my right mind trade Vinny to chase Benoit Pouliot of all players.
- SuperSchennBros

I'd trade Vinny just to be rid of Vinny.

He was a very good player. He's not that anymore. He's a limited guy who doesn't fit well with the team and system the Flyers say they want to use. If he stays, he's forcing a good, young developing player(Brayden Schenn) out of position and being a roadblock to more offensive opportunity for another(Sean Couturier).

Benoit Pouliot might not have the cache in terms of being a name, and honestly, I'm not to keen on him either, but he'd be a better fit for this team than the fading Lecavalier.

I'm ignoring the names and looking at the style of of play and how a guy fits into the scheme and line up. Jussi Jokinen would be a better fit, as he's capable of being a scoring line winger, is a solid two way player and a good skater, plus he's very good in the shootout. Daniel Winnick wouldn't be a bad addition, place him as the 3rd line LW and it allows the Flyers to slide Matt Read up to a top six role. Hell, Nikolai Kulemin is out there as well and he's a very solid two way player.

This team is so damned annoying. I was watching Habs-Rangers and the wife asked me if I would watch a movie with her. She hadn;t see it, and likes Simon Pegg, so literally, the world was ending when Revere went yard

I don't go often, but I watch a lot of them. If I'm home & there's no hockey or baseball on, chances are I'm watching a movie.

We can't win because flyers management continues to live in the 70's with these exact type of players making up a our 4th line eating up valuable minutes just skating around earning stats for penalty minutes!!!! Who trades Max Talbot for Steve Downie?? Oh yea the Flyers do trade a class act world class Stanley cup winning penalty killer with a cap hit of 1.5 million for Steve Downie cap hit 3.75million....lord Stanley will have to wait another 37 years if this team doesn't wake up real soon and look around the league!

Who knows? Look at a guy like Canseco. I think he actually believes the stuff he tweets, while 90% of the people that follow him on twitter are doing it for the giggles when he goes off on a tirade.

Max T has a cap hit of 1.8 for 3 more years, Downie is off the books as of now.

If Downie doesn't get concussed he might have fit in well with Couts and Read, he had a nice little stretch with them before being injured.

I agree with getting better players for the bottom six, though. More speed and less guys who only fight.

thats fine. canseco can go do whatever crap he wants to appease himself. he is of little relevance to me.

RAJ on the other hand. the guy has the power to crush summers for years to come.
