Would prefer elder, but hamhuis could be a solid add. |

Hamhuis is a much better defender than Edler, but that's not a knock on Edler. |

I still maintain a solid no on Kesler and that Filppula and Stamkos our are top two centers. We need a top 4 defender and a back-up goalie. |

Not disputing that. As I said in the blog, you put Kesler on Filppula's wing. |

Malone, Rangers 1st, 2nd, prospects like Namestnikov and Connolly for example. I think they have all the right pieces to make a large deal like that and not have their team hurt now and in the long run. - DDM-Coga
Late round picks, one career injured prospect and a Russian question mark
I think Vancouver avoids that deal at all costs.
I don't think TB has the right pieces, Anaheim has the best package |

Everyone likes him on the wing. I do as well but he is only a Selke winner at centre. |

Agree that the package isn't enough, but let's not call Namestnikov a "Russian question mark." And Connolly isn't exactly "career injured," either. |

i say kesler and bieksa for our 1st this year, connolly, barberio, nameshnikov, and rights to callahan and lindback. no more than that. otherwise id rather just bring vinny back for pretty much the same money and we could get him for practically nothing. |

Not nearly enough for those two. Plus, KB won't waive. |

Wouldnt you rather have Stamkos/Kesler/Johnson or Thompson as your down the middle to start the season? I think if you go after Kesler, you can move Fippula who has great value to try and obtain a Dman. IF the Kesler trade is conditional of him resigning an extention. I would take him over Fip - DDM-Coga
You can't just trade Fippula who we just signed in fa! then players won't like signing in a place and get traded right away! we arfe not trading val he is a guy yzerman wants in tampa. |

LOL @ people that think Stamkos is even attainable... especially for Hamhuis (okay top 4), Kesler (complimentary top line guy) and spare parts. |

Hamhuis is the perfect top three guy. Kesler is a good top six forward. Kassian is loaded with potential. The sixth pick will have lots of potential. Tanev is a solid top four/five guy.
The Stamkos stuff is all sarcasm. Nobody thinks he's available.
EDIT - Kassian is the sort of prospect the Lightning (and most teams, for that matter) are missing. Maybe Erne develops into that guy.
EDIT x2 - No, I'm not suggesting that we deal Stamkos for Kassian. |
