I think they are looking for a fight becasue of the Stepan injury - Whether or not Kreider tried his hardest not to smash into the goalie is irrelevant now as the play happened and price is out. But then they say Habs can only win by taking out their best player - Joel_Eh
I know, it's funny how the roles have reversed. But hey, if crosby can play with a cage, why can't Stepan? |

and for the record i agree Prust should be suspended. - Joel_Eh
It may not being conveyed in a non-biased way from heated fans of each of your teams...but running into a goalie after being tripped and hurting that goalie vs. a late dirty hit are just a tad different, doncha think? |

It's totally different, but the Prust hit wasn't dirty. It was just late. |

10 games fo DC.
He must feel sick of the rule... I know you can't touch the refs but c'mon... such an injustice to his team, it's tough to stay straight with your emotions, 10 games is a heavy price to pay.... - MathSphere
No question, he should have controlled his emotions. But, if initial call on Prust ws made, none of this probably happens, plus, there was no reason for the official to have his hands on Carcillo to escort him to the box. Neither excuses his actions, but just makes it even more distateful to the Rangers and especially their fans that it occurred. |

Of course - but the results of both teams being without important players are the same.
I just think its silly to say either team cant beat the other without injuring players - the habs have beaten the rangers healthy team and the rangers have beaten the habs healthy team. |

can the montreal fans please go back to their own forum? i don't get to post here often and I want to talk rangers with the interesting fellow fans that inhabit this board rather than sit here reading habs fans try to create a false equivalency between Kreider's accidental hit on price and Prut's clearly purposeful mauling of Stepan. |

Sorry "a" instead of "they" although a lot of people get mad when you mention anything to do with the Price vs Kreider incident. |

The NHL is turned into the gimmick league, and the blind officials league. The Gimmick, How in god's name can you play A SEASON with a terrible shootout rule but not have it in the playoffs? That tells you it shouldn't be in the league, PERIOD! Blind officials... The official LOOKED RIGHT AT THE PLAY and called nothing? Are you friggin serious? All year they call everything, now you let all the petty jabbing and cross checks go in the playoffs? You can jab someone in the face during a scrum, cross check a guy after the whistle but don't you dare allow an opposing skater to push you into a goalie or it's a penalty. HUH? Penalties for "Spraying" a goalie but give a guy a broken jaw and no call, SMH, this officiating is an EMBARRASSMENT |

Dirty to me is an intent to injure a player. You guys know Brandon almost better than us habs fans. Was he a dirty player when he player in NY? Or did you love him? |

the discussion point is, could he have avoided going in THE WAY he did, feet first. now you, me, prock and everyone under the sun can argue as to what we think happened and pretend we have a clue, but the truth is, we don't. the only one who knows whether he could have avoided such severe contact is Kreider. so i don't even think it's worth discussion, personally. it happened, Price is out, it's over, everyone move on. |

Carcillo has about as many brain cells as a peanut. Anybody but him could control himself. It was only a matter of time before he really hurt his team. You take the good with the bad with him. He did the same thing with the Flyers. Gave the Caps a 9 minute powerplay in one game for sucker punching a guy.

If you guys are going to the finals, it's best he's not on your team anyway. |

Hitting someone late from their blind side is a dirty hit and usually ends with an injury. |

The worse for him is that in a scenario where the Rangers wins the Cup, he wouldn't even be allowed on the ice to raise it... |
