well the hyperbole is certainly an added element, but he is right in that everything started there. Stepan doesn't get hit if Price doesn't. i think we can all agree on that.
- scotch_tape

It's more than that however. Prust didn't hit Step until game three while Price was injured in game one. If it was simply retribution for that single incident then I would have expected something later in game one when the score was out of hand or sometime during game two.

Honestly I think it was Prust seeing his team in trouble, the Montreal D looking a little worn and thinking he could do something to spark his team. All understandable but unfortunately his hit was bad.

So the Habs should not check him?
Got it thanks

- MTL1

Did I say that specifically? Can you not tell when a team is specifically targeting a player? Come on, anyone who watches enough hockey can see something that obvious.

If Habs players go after Brassard after the whistle then it's clear he is being targeted. If they go out of their way to shove, push or hit Brassard when the puck is nowhere near him then clearly they are targeting him. Stop saying ridiculous things.

Man you folks are hard headed. Therrien made it public!!!! It's one thing to say rough him up in private, it's the very reason why injury disclosure never happens. He said it to the world. There is a difference. Actually I'm glad he did it. He might have taken his own teams aggressiveness away bc now the officials will be looking for it.

I don't think, I know the habs are a disgrace. And your whole premise is incorrect. The whole habs team is talking crap much more than any team I've seen in a while. Anyways, Why don't you phuck off? Nobody really cares what you have to say. You really don't have a clue.
- GStone

no, i certainly have more than a clue. what separates you from someone like me is that, even though i'm a fan, i can take a step back and look at things objectively. it's something generally associated with intelligence and emotional maturity, and perhaps you lack that. i imagine you're in the 15-18 age range, and you'll grow out of it. (though i don't think that excuses your approach here. it's incredibly rude.) but to the point, like i said, both teams are behaving in a manner that is unbecoming of a team in the conference final. you're right, Montreal is certainly talking too much in the media, about Kreider, about Stepan's injury, and a few other things. as a Habs fan, i'm not crazy about it, but what can i do?

on the flip side, if you truly were objective, you'd be able to admit that the Rangers are guilty of such discretions themselves, particularly Alain Vigneault. his behavior in the last few days has been equally underhanded, starting with his blaming the referees (never a good sign, by the way) for Carcillo's automatic suspension and culminating with him sending his assistants to watch Montreal's practice. that act is evidence that Vigneault is either A) passive-aggressively trying to get under Therrien's skin or B) starting to get spooked that maybe Montreal isn't the easy out NY thought they were a few days back. either way, he doesn't look too good in the eyes of most NHL observers, including Don Cherry, who has a notorious dislike for the Canadiens.

regardless, you're free to think what you want about who's a disgrace and who's not a disgrace. i'm sure a level-headed, clear-eyed observer like Larry Brooks agrees with you, so that's certainly a feather in your cap. but like i said, if you had the benefit of being able to separate your emotion from true logic, you would surely see that both teams are guilty of similar transgressions and, again, according to your own standards, your own team is a disgrace. not what i'd call a great fan but it's not really my place to comment on that.

Did he say we are gonna target him and take him out?

Those mean canadiens are so mean

How bout stepan taking runs after his "fractured jaw" - perhaps he fractured it after he came back as initial X-rays were negative

Never have I been so amped up for a game. I personally think this is the biggest game since 1994. People could argue the Devils series was bigger couple years ago but I never thought we had the talent to win the cup. I can't speak for the rest of you but tonight decides the series for both teams. Obviously we go up 3-1 if we win but if we lose and it's even going back to Montreal, I think it's going to be really tough to win this series for us.

I still think the Penguins game 7 was the biggest since 1994 but this game is huge. Could really be the true turning point in the series.

He said he knows where the injury is. Veiled threat. Who did Stepan go after? So did Stepan target someone knowing they were injured and go after that area? So is Stepan really hurt or faking? Fishy still? No update?

X rays aren't always conclusive. I have a family member who had a cheat X-ray done bc he is a lifelong smoker but bc he is a lifelong smoker they did a CT scan the found a small tumor. So shut up. They went on the premise that they saw nothing.

The refs will be watching closer for sure. Although that doesn't really mean much. Refs don't know what is a penalty and what isn't anymore

certainly possible. 2 games they've played now, enough time for the Rangers to study him and find holes. if Montreal doesn't come out with a better first-period performance tonight, they will be in very big trouble.

In reading Montreal Michels comments today. Sounds like someone above him coaches him to back track and to stop embarrassing the organization.

After watching the Prust hit on Stepan about 500x's I have come to the conclusion that the hit was prob one of the most unnecessary things that he had to do. Prust was obviously looking to get his team riled up but the way he went about doing it was horrible. Listen I have played hockey for 22 years and I am a national champion and now I coach a High School hockey team. I see hits like that all the time and it just doesn't need to happen. Whether he targets the head or not when you are skating that fast and Stepan got rid of the puck way in enough time for Prust to not follow through with such a late hit and I emphasize this, I have problem with that. I also hated the fact that he basically launched his body like a missile to Stepans chest/chin. It's blatant blindside hit thats very late and it doesn't need to happen. Oh btw it was so late that no ref saw the hit cause the play was already down ice, that's why everyone missed it. I don't know how anyone can defend Prust on that hit. I know it's the playoffs and emotions run high but I just don't get how Prust can honestly sit there and say he didn't have intentions of hurting anyone with a hit like that. You're actions showed something totally else. Just my 2 cents.

Every true Rangers fan has doubt in there head right now and are very nervous. Almost expecting them to lose tonight. That's just being a Rangers fan we never get our hopes up even when we are winning 6-0 going into the 3 period we think there is still a chance we might lose. Lol we are also the most loyal fan base in New York and nobody else comes close.

Dude, you have no right to talk to anybody like this. I know who you are and it's against the CoC to post in an alternative account while banned (not that I care) At least I've never equated all Americans as racists like you did this morning (and got banned for it) your ISP isn't fooling me. You hypocrite you. And you just said that Prust should get a medal for taking out Steps on the main thread. How clear and level headed of you!
