its a ranger thread though.
- mighty13duck

This may surprise you, but it is a thread to discuss the Rangers, not a thread for Ranger fans.

I do agree, there needs to be respect. But that is from both sides. There have been Montreal fans here throughout the series who have discussed hockey quite sensibly (and knowledgeably) without problems until last night. Now, no matter the comment, Ranger fans see red.

Just take a deep breath. And talk hockey. And don't take everyone's allegiances so g'damned personally.

One of the best things up until now about this run has been their lack of injuries, but Brass & now Stepan def OUT is gonna test the will. Hopefully Brass is back Sunday.
- B2B76

But seriously, Crosby played with a broken jaw, so did alot of players! Why can't Stepan. you're all jumping the gun.

It's worse because you know who the person is. You could be one of those Boko Haram guys for all I know. I hear they're Ranger fans too. Nice fan base, dirtbags!
- eichiefs9

Better than having North Korea being all Islanders fans. Who am I kidding, even those guys think your team stinks. But they do love the Coliseum, and wonder how you keep it in such pristine condition.

It's like a McArthur grant. If you ask, it will never happen.

Every injury is different.

Who knows if he'll play.... I'd expect him to miss one game at least considering they're not referring to him as "day-to-day" but hey... crazier things have happened.

Give us our own mod and your job will be a lot easier.

I AM your mod. I have BEEN your mod for years. I actually like 99% of you. I actually got in trouble for NOT banning a Ranger fan who really deserved it last night.

how did you feel about Pouliot's hit on Emelin late in game 2?
- DoubleDown

It was dirty. Stupid. All of the above. But he ACTUALLY was penalized. It wasn't like Prusts, that was a premeditated ATTEMPT to injure, almost an attack. And he succeeded. Prust was basically like a snake, he looked for prey and when that prey least expected it....boom!!! This was honestly one of the dirtiest hits from a player I've even seen. It made Matt Cooke look like a lady byng type player. Any MTL fan who can't tell the difference in this hit vs the Emelin Pouliot play and of course the Kreider "lemme kill the goalie attempt" you guys wanna portray...are out of your minds. Because your a MTL fan, being knowledgable I'd think, you couldn't possibly put the Purst hit in that same stratosphere. If you do then your a jaded hab fan who has no idea how to be rational with yourself. And I understand fans do that all the time an I do too, but sometimes the evidence has to overcome the jadedness.

The ref missing that call basically changes the whole complexion of the game in one fell swoop.

A) thwarting any potential momentum they could've gotten from a 5 minute PP. they could it a 1000 different ways. And we all know that momentum changes on a dime in playoff games.

B) because he missed the call, the rangers become enraged, focus on revenge instead of the task at hand (Prust ultimately wins in that case as do the Habs) because the whole team basically wants to kill Prust. If a penalty is called, Carcillo doesn't act like that (he deserves 10 games)...and more then likely plays on like any normal playoff game. If this hit is legal, kudos to Prust and the rangers can at least deal with it and not become angered out if their minds. Because of no penalty and the kind of it, any team would react they way the rangers did

C) the Habs lose one player in turn hurting their chances of winning the game. What happens? The opposite..Carcillo is out of the game instead. Utter BS

point is this hit basically incites a war all because of a blind, or dare I say, MTL fan referee. Which I'm not 100% dismissing. Call me crazy. He was right in front of him. This Joannette scumbag is awful, and I said this long before this game last night. Only reason I say that is because I've never in my life remembered a referees name until this wiener. I'm not usually one to blame officials. This guy is a horror show, he really is

If this topic is over done today I apologize because I hadn't been on in fear of a yearly ban for what I fully expected to get once I engaged with Bingo Lady or someone.

I'm not questioning your judgement. Just saying it would be nice to also have a Ranger ref on this blog.

Yeah and Emelin used his stick...didnt kick his feet out. If anything he pulled his feet out from under him which would cause the opposite. But like i said thats over and done with so who cares.
- Joel_Eh

Look its quite simple. Emelin didn't pull his skates out from under him, he came with a sweeping hack across the back leg while Kreider was moving forward on the front leg. So the back leg pulls back while the front leg moves forward. Do a split at top speed on the ice and tell me how it feels to helicopter out of control onto your butt.

No one asked was ever available.

I recused myself from the first round here and other mods took it on. Because even I have my limits.

By the way. The one poster I have heard from all day long is someone I should have banned last night but gave the benefit of the doubt. He was banned later by another mod. The ban was rescinded by the commish. He immediately went and posted an incendiary post in another thread. He was banned by yet another mod. And his response has been to pepper ME with whiny PMs

So the mighty13duck may want to reconsider his wish.

Can't you guys talk about the games to come now?

If you think I'm combative you've never noticed how many Ranger fans get banned when I'm not on duty. I tend to give the trollees the benefit of the doubt.

Or simply grasping at straws. Because the refereeing as a whole in these playoffs has all been so perfectly accurate and understandable to everyone. They are universally competent and fully correct all year until that call.
