Kinda makes you wonder how one of Pittsburgh or Boston didn't make it. I could see one of them getting upset, but with the sheer talent on them, kinda crazy that they both lost.

Yeah, we can talk about who's got better players, or which team should win statistically until we're blue in the face... but amazing goaltending (and a bit of luck) can pretty much trump everything at any given time.

If I'm the flyers my first offer to b schenn is 3 years at 1.5 per. The goal is to sign him for no more than coots deal, 2 yrs 1.75 max per.

Hexy needs to set a new precedent here. If it takes a B schenn holding out all summer then so be it. Players need to start earning their keep instead of having a hot month or two and going for a deal

I really didn't think the Pens would make it far. Yes they have 2 of the best players in the world but I really don't think they are a very deep team.

another year of just hating who will win the cup......Rangers, Hawks (3 in the last 5 yrs...stinkin 2010) and LA (Carter with 2 cups????)

The only concern then is someone offer sheeting him for 3 years at $3.3M, or just under whatever the ceiling of the no compensation offer sheet is. Then their hand is forced. When it's a Weber or a Pietrnagelo or a Stamkos, and the difference is between $6.5M long-term and $7.5M long-term, it's not as much of a worry. But with a guy like B. Schenn, you don't wanna pay him that much, but it doesn't mean a Calgary/Buffalo/etc. won't.

I wish Montreal had a shot. When it comes down to it, I'm rooting for LA (I really don't care about the ex-Flyer thing), then Chicago (still hate them for 2010, but they're not the Rangers), and then...well, I can't even say I'm rooting for them last because I refuse to root for them ever.

I don't get irritated over Richards or Williams but I really do with Carter.

In all fairness G was a wing and became a center. And Having depth is not a bad thing at center. i just don't think the centers they have are as easy to move to wings. Like carter was a center but the way he played he was a better winger and because he liked to shoot more. G is a better center then wing because of the way he is a playmaker.

are we really at a point where the giroux pick needs to be defended?

I think I just perceive him as whining himself out of Columbus and into winning the cup. he isn't the first or last to do that but he just irritates me. what can I say

To use a baseball analogy, Carter always reminded me of a home run hitter who strikes out alot.

Those types of players tend to get booed when they aren't hitting. And Carter could be a little too streaky for my tastes.
