Agreed, but we also live in a salary cap world and can't afford him. Might as well roll with Kadri and Bozak who are both younger and cheaper. I would love to add an elite center, but an elite center Stastny is not. If there was no cap, giddy up, sign and pay him whatever he wants... My issue is more than Stastny is being seen as a solution to our woes when in fact he isn't but would just make our cap situation more difficult.

London sucks, love when the Memorial Cup hosts come in and are garbage. Same thing happened with the Oil Kings a few years ago, got trounced in the first or second round in the WHL playoffs, lost every game at the Mem Cup

I think teams still need a physical edge to their game. Im not talking Colton Orr and goons of his ilk. Im speaking more of guys who can play physical and still contribute to a team on the scoresheet and away from the puck.

Hunter will have those guys at the top of the standings again within a year or two.

but yeah, lol right now they are completely outclassed at this tourney.. i have a feeling tonight is going to go too well for them

first off, they're not the only 2 good players Detroit has ever drafted. secondly, obviously Detroit didn't know that they would be HOFers but they obviously saw something in them. you don't know how highly Detroit had them rated. Detroit could have had them rated as second or third round talents. but if they knew that these guys weren't on anyone else's radar and that they'd be around later, why reach?

There was a great article somewhere a few years back about how Detroit was actually the only NHL team that had ever seen Datsyuk play, so they knew nobody was going to take him. Something about storms cancelling scouts trips to a big tourney, but Detroit's scout was already there before the storms for something else. I realize this isn't very descriptive, but basically they were the only team who had seen Datsyuk and had an idea what his potential was.

Domi, Horvat and McCarron are 19, Anderson is 20, the Rupert twins and Tierney are all in their final season unless they come back as overagers, Stolarz their starter is 20, their blueline outside of Zadorov (19) and I think Jamieson on their bottom pairing are overagers.

They're probably the second oldest team in the tournament after the Forreurs who actually let their 17 year old soon to be star play.

London will be strong again because they'll rig the draft and pay players under the table to demand a move to them like they always do.

ya, there really isnt much to offer...and the rink is a joke. Its artificial ice and about 30x30 square or thereabouts. Failed attempt...we went on the weekend to check out the dt scene, and it was empty
