Burke was an awful G.M. He knew he was coming to Toronto, so he instructed the interim G.M. to trade all kinds of picks to move up, to select Luke Schitt. One of the worst picks imo. Guy was just terrible.

Goalie evaluation? Burke has never had a clue as to what a good goalie is, only reason he won a cup was a decent goalie stood on his head in Anaheim.

Looking at that team he inherited and NOT seeing the first or second pick coming to Toronto, which he traded away for a very good one way player, but missed out on either Hall or Seguin? Insane.

No had no use for Burke.

He came to Toronto with no blue chip talent in the minors. He left leaving us the same way. There are no franchise players anywhere to be seen on the Marlies.

Apart from our first line and Rielly and Gardiner and Bernier, the whole team should be traded for picks. And since Kessel and JVR will be too old to follow the plan, they should be traded as well if we are blown away with a trade proposition.

Detroit fluked out with two picks, so don't throw out Detroit comparisons. Zetterberg and Datsyuk were complete flukes. If they weren't, the Wings waited six rounds knowing no one else had figured out their talents?

And Kadri might be our Yzerman? Only in stick skills. Kadri might have even better stick skills But Kadri skates very badly, and uses all kinds of tricks with his body to cover up the fact that he cannot really dig down low on his skates because of a poor genetic body he was born with.

NHL teams still have NO clue as to what makes a great player thank god, so we do see gems in later rounds. Hip strength and lateral mobility are what it is, not how fast some fool is without a puck going straight forward.

Toronto's greatest weakness? They have never finished last overall. Never. They just dull our minds with lousy to mediocre seasons. I am close to becoming a permanent Chicago fan. For years anyways. Love Kane, best player in hockey now.

Check your facts, 1985, 1st overall pick was Wendel Clark, the rest is jibberish.

Ashton > Pancake boy and cheaper...all we need is Phil and Dustin eating cheeseburgers together like they are Randy from TPB
- PinkSock

Penner on a line with Stastny and Lupul would be doing the dirty work along the boards, and in front of the net. Ashton is cheaper, but he's a big guy who can't fight, can't score, and has no hockey sense. Heck, even McLaren can do one of those things.

True but at the time I believe it still was. We had some horrible teams in the 80's how did we not get more.

yeah the forwards have some talent, but when randy has the forwards at the hashmarks, the D men are open to shoot, pass, have a cup of tea. whatever floats their boat, its a god damned joke and even more of a joke that randy still has a job.

paperweight coaching, follow the puck into the corner, eat some timbits, (frank) me.

- big_dion

Yeah, one of my pet peeves is how often the points are left uncovered at even strength and shorthanded. Cover the points and block shots ffs!

You know what's not funny child obesity. I hate seeing all these programs where children are massive and their parents just keep feeding them poop. I'm not a small man by any means but seriously the epidemic is crazy.

I like to pick up Ekblad. We need the high end d. If they are trading I want leafs to package the pick and something to get Ekblad. Ekblad and Reilly pairing would be amazing.

6m aint too bad for Duchene; as long as he's healthy.
- big_dion

Wrong. It's a steal. Right now he is our best player...that makes negotiating with ror and stastny that much easier. Anything north of 6m is practically out of the question since dutchie outperforms both players. Granted someone like ror does the little things and is great defensively. That being said he'll probably make around 5.5m

Exactly it's actually cheaper to eat healthy and cook from home. Just don't buy ready made products that's were they get you bag salads are like six bucks buy all the ingredients and you can make six salads for that.
